We’re giving away 500 apple trees to 50 local communities, allowing them to experience the joy of looking after and growing apples in their own orchard. Calling all schools & charities... Through our two headline programmes 'Cultivate & Educate' and 'Cultivating Change in the Community' we are striving to encourage and increase in the participation of young people and communities in gardening, 'grow-your-own' activities and spending more time outside in nature to support mental health & overall wellbeing in 2025! The application process is still OPEN! Successful applicants will receive a fantastic bundle of vegetable, herb and flower seeds and the chance to be part of our virtual and in real life communities sharing support, encouragement, tips as well as access to our horticultural specialist. Cultivating Change also run workshops, assemblies & talks and where possible is able to give practical support for the development of school gardens. The application window is still open, but spaces are limited. We wouldn't want you to miss out - Sign up your school, charity or community group today https://lnkd.in/eBFC_UGM 100% of our growers in 2023/2024 would recommend Cultivating Change to friends and family. Cultivating Change has delivered assemblies and workshops to over 2,000 children and their teachers have commented "Cultivating Change has brought green and light and joy to an otherwise inner-city London classroom' & 'I can't thank you enough. What a fabulous morning'. There is evident need for children to spend more time outside, and engage with gardening based activities. 1 in 6 children/young people in the UK have a diagnosable mental health problem, often continuing into adulthood. Gardening is an excellent way to support wellbeing, it increases confidence and self esteem and helps to reduce stress, anxiety and depression. The hours spent outside by this generation of children is dwindling. It has been reported that 74% of children spend less time outside than a prison inmate! At Cultivating Change we really want to provide support, information and resources to support gardening in schools, communities groups and in charity groups to address these issues. If you would like to know more about Cultivating Change head to our website https://lnkd.in/dFCe7658 Apply to join Cultivating Change and become a hashtag #cultivatorforchange

One of the best parts of my job at MainStreet Bank is telling the story of how this community-focused bank makes a difference locally. And one of the coolest parts of how we do that is through an employee-directed giving program, Making Change. This program flips the script on corporate giving, putting donations in the hands of our team members. Here's the first in a series of stories we're telling:

Children help plant Leicester’s 30th Tiny Forest 🌲 A four-year project to grow a network of urban micro forests in schools and community spaces across Leicester is set to reach an important milestone. Since spring 2021, Leicester City Council has been working with environmental charity Earthwatch Europe to bring its pioneering Tiny Forest programme to life at schools and community areas across the city. Each Tiny Forest involves planting 600 new trees in a plot no bigger than a tennis court. They feature a mix of native tree species including Wych, Elm, Silver Birch, Hawthorn and Broom, and are designed to attract over 500 animal and plant species within three years.

🌱 Join us in supporting Urban Harvest this #TransformationTuesday 🌱 Since 1994, Urban Harvest has been cultivating thriving communities in Houston through gardening and access to healthy, local food. 🥕 Their mission is not just about planting seeds but also about nurturing vibrant neighborhoods and improving lives, soils, and plates across the city. From launching thriving gardens to organizing farmers markets and educational programs, Urban Harvest has been at the forefront of creating sustainable change. 🌿 Urban Harvest hosts one of Texas’ largest farmers markets, today supporting over 100 local Houston farmers market vendors, providing an outlet for community and backyard gardeners to sell fresh produce harvested directly from their own soils. But Urban Harvest is more than just about gardening—it's about fostering connections and building communities. 🌻 Community gardens in Houston serve as hubs for inter-generational interactions, bringing people of all ages together to connect with the land and each other. These green spaces aren't just about growing plants; they're about nurturing mental well-being. 🌳 They provide a sanctuary for people to de-stress, meditate, and find solace in nature. By supporting Urban Harvest, you're not just supporting a nonprofit—you're supporting a movement towards healthier, happier communities. 🌟 Join them in sowing the seeds of change and cultivating a brighter future for Houston! ▶️ UrbanHarvest.org #UrbanHarvest #CommunityGardens #HealthyLiving #Donate #Nonprofit #Dogood #Philanthropy #Nonprofitorganization #Socialgood #Causes #Changemaker #Notforprofit #Activism #NonprofitSpotlight #CommunityImpact

I have a son and a daughter, both members of generation Z. When they were younger, my wife and I would give them an allowance. We made them split their allowance into three buckets: savings, spending and charity. Savings they got back when they turned 18, spending can be used as they desired and charity got donated to the nonprofit of their choice. My kids normally saved up their charity dollars all year and made an end-of-the-year gift. Their gifts, and our experience in making those gifts online, inspired me to write this blog article. Here are three lessons all nonprofits can learn from the youngest generation of givers:. https://buff.ly/4aY5tPk #donations #nonprofit #donation #fundraising #charity #nonprofitorganization #nonprofits #notforprofit #support #socialgood #donorlove

#DidYouKnow that every year, 920,000 shelter animals are needlessly euthanized in shelters nationwide due to overpopulation, with TEXAS ranking #2 in the most overpopulated state? That number breaks down to 530,000 cats and 390,000 dogs. Local shelters face overpopulation, decreased in-person volunteers, and reduced adoption events. Can’t adopt right now? Help your local shelter in other ways by: 👉 Fostering animals 👉 Signing up to volunteer 👉 Donating or giving supplies #education #texas #animals

❗❗💜 My heart just breaks when I hear about animals in these situations. This one is close to where I live so it would mean A LOT to me if you could donate. Even $5 would help! 💜 ❗❗ Time is running out. We are so close to intake day. Katy's Kritters Safe Haven is very small. This is the biggest under taking we have ever attempted. When we realized no one else had the capacity or the resources to help. We decided we can't ignore there plea for help. We had to make a plan. We couldn't do it with out you. Recap: Katy's Kritters Safe Haven has been asked to help a caretaker find immediate placement for 25 indoor cats at one residence. We will be rescuing the first 11 to 15 cats on August 7th. Most if not all of these are pregnant moms, moms with nursing kittens or kittens (under 1 year). These cats have had no vetting. Multiple community members have reached out asking how they can support our efforts. We had a total of 3 people willing to be foster homes for these cats. They have bravely stepped up. We have a 4th that has applied. This is not an easy task. Currently fosters have agreed to pay for there own supplies. We want to reach out to the community one last time to raise supplies to care for the large number of cats and kittens that will be in our care soon. This will help provide relief to foster homes. Our biggest needs right now are Canned kitten food, dry kitten food and non clumping litter. Based on how many kitten supplies get donated, it will directly affect how many mom's with litters and kittens we can pull on August 7th. These are our biggest priority as they have weakened immune systems and are fragile. Please help me, help more. Here are ways to donate: 1. Cash App-our cash app tag is $Frogtowncatcrisis 2. Venmo tag is @catcrisis 3. You can drop off in person in Rosemount and leave on the porch. 4. You can mail directly to us in Rosemount. 5. You can ship to us via our Amazon wish list. The link is below. https://lnkd.in/gxbT_5fH ... Address for donations drop off 13975 Brianboru Ave Rosemount, MN 55068 Thank you so much for your support!
