In case you missed our engagement session today, you can still join the Ocean Wise one and clean up at the same time. The details are in the link, but it is Oct 26th at Cates Park in North Van. The idea is to have a warm up discussion, set some discussion questions and have groups do a little shoreline cleanup while discussing the question. They are hoping the clean up helps to bring up some different ideas, and the walking discussion group should be fun. Innovation is guiding us toward a sustainable world! however; innovation should solve or mitigate the challenges not just change its context. I have questions regarding this innovation: How does this process impact the local plants and animals inhabiting this region? Regarding the deposit location, does this innovation relocate pollutants from water to land or there is a plan to put them in a reuse and recycle process? Answers to these questions can be directly linked to SDG 14 and SDG 15.

Pollution is the root cause of some of the most critical environmental issues we face today, from climate change to loss of biodiversity. The impact is so severe that we must take action before it's too late. Did you know that rivers are the leading source of ocean pollution? Fortunately, a solution is in sight. By 2025, 1000 major rivers will have implemented plastic segregation projects to combat plastic waste in our oceans. This is a significant step towards preserving our planet for generations to come. Let's continue to work towards a cleaner, healthier future for all. #Pollution #Plastic #Ocean #Rivers #Ecosystems #ClimateChange #Biodiversity
