Our discussion is “Owning and Promoting Your Shit”: After the many months of conceiving, planning, designing, developing, testing, updating, and launching your game… Won’t you want to make sure that you are protecting the intellectual property you have created, that you are not infringing on trademarks of others, that you’re protecting your data in the data of players, that your game can find and retain a community, and that the characters in world you have built can live on beyond this particular game instead of platforms?” Pass it on to anyone who might benefit.

"How (and what) can an empire see?" This provocation from the below lecture from Cole Wehrle of Leder Games is fascinating. The lecture focuses on questions of perspective in the design of historical games. There's a lot to chew on here. It reminds me of discussions about collective intelligence and how actors and entities like empires, corporations and others entities "think": "sense", "coordinate", and "process" towards action. The lecture is a reminder that games are an excellent way to inform these discussions, with analysis through the design process and through play. This is an essential watch for designers interested in games and perspective or those interested in expressing ideas in collective intelligence.
