Greek Week continues to make a big impact in the local community and this hyper-local storytelling should remain a focus. I think, because we’re at a world-renowned institution, we aim a lot at showing how far-reaching our footprint goes. This story is part of that too—many of those involved will go on to do great things across the world. But, right now, we’re telling a story of students building camaraderie and connecting with where they are at this point in time and with what’s closest in proximity. That doesn’t minimize their impact by any means. So, I think this also shows how important Fraternity and Sorority Life remains to the philanthropy of the area. How FSL creates leaders and constructive citizenry. If you connect those dots, you see that this article tells multiple stories beyond the surface.

Meet Luca🧡💙 With our summer distribution fundraising campaign underway we met with our Logistics Manager, Luca, to discuss the upcoming summer clothes distribution. Luca shared: “In the last few weeks, the weather has changed rapidly on Samos and we have seen that people are less interested in winter clothing. We are preparing to start the summer distribution to ensure that people receive the clothes that they want but also need to stay cool in the summer heat. Did you know that this month is American Red Cross Month?⛑️ It's important to recognize the vital role that the organization plays in supporting communities across the country. One of the most critical areas of focus for the Red Cross is home fire prevention and relief. Every year, thousands of families are impacted by devastating home fires, and the Red Cross is there to provide support and assistance in the aftermath. As one of their Safety Campaigns, the Red Cross works to educate families on fire safety and prevention. In addition, they offer resources and support to help families get back on their feet after a fire, including temporary shelter, food, and clothing. This month, let’s take a moment to recognize the incredible work that the American Red Cross does to keep our communities safe. It's Friday, and I think we could all use a little corn and cheese. As in me and Deevon La Rue being corny and cheesy, and narrating this video of our coral restoration volunteering together. Yes, we are still working on raising funds to complete our gear and get additional research and conservation training certifications. Thank you *so much* to those who have helped us get this far. While also seeking and submitting proposals for paying client work. While also doing excellent client work. While also promoting client work (see posts on Mother: Sisterhood in the Wild film from earlier this week). And as Wes would like you all to know, "he be scrubbing too." And FYI, this isn't bad grammar, it's AAVE. This Friday, I wish you all the freedom to be natural, silly, cheesy, corny, joyful, authentic, and at ease with who and where you are in life. Even if it doesn't fit within the parameters of those who will never love you anyway. I invite you to do what you love, even if others don't understand it. I challenge you to seek and embrace the core of who you are, even if it isn't consistent with the "brand" you're told you need to have. Dear Network, Just wrapped up 50+ fulfilling hours of volunteering through the Best of Bloomberg program! A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Bloomberg Philanthropies team & Mike Bloomberg for enabling me to contribute to the Dollars for Your Hours program. I am so proud to work for a company that is focused on philanthropy. From packing and sorting food at the SF-Marin Food Bank , to packing and sorting hygiene kits for Simply the Basics and San Francisco AIDS Foundation.  Grateful to have reached 50 hours enabling me to choose charity's that have great meaning and impact. This year, I proudly donated 2500USD to Warrior Dog Foundation AND Operation Healing Forces, for a total of $5,000 USD. These organizations making a significant impact in SOF Veteran community. The mission of Warrior Dog Foundation is to transition our country’s working K9s from an operational environment into retirement. Providing mental and physical rehabilitation, and rehoming options to Military Working Dogs (MWD), Contract Working Dogs (CWD) and Law Enforcement K9s that otherwise would be euthanized. The mission of Operation Healing Forces is to serve the needs of America’s wounded, ill, injured, and fallen Special Operations Forces service members, veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors through a suite of programs that promote long-term mental, physical, emotional, and fiscal well-being.
