👋 DON’T FORGET: It’s that time of year when we ask current clients to double-check and update their TTP profiles. Why? This simply helps ensure our team cares for your pets as best as they can with relevant and current information. Puppies grow up, dogs develop new sometimes fears, pets may have changes in behaviour, senior pups may have different needs, and dietary or health conditions may also change. Updating your profile is the easiest way to keep our team informed and allow our team to provide care accordingly. (I’m totally guilty of forgetting to add changes to our cats profile, that’s why I’m here sending out a PSA 😂) DM us if you need any assistance updating your client profile!

🐶 Founder | CEO Doggy Day Care Brisbane | ♀️ Gender equality advocate |📝 Secretary for Little Lives Australia | 🗞 Columnist | The Westender
⏰️2 hours fly by when you are chatting to the knowledgeable, funny and caring woman that is Di from Paws and Relax. Doggy Day Care Brisbane and Paws and Relax have a lot in common, from our values, our striving to do the best for the fur kids in our care and our no-nonsense approach to biz life. While there are also differences it is lovely to sit down and spend time together. We are not in competition and we actually just wish each other the best. The Doggy Day Care industry is rapidly changing and I think Di and I can absolutely agree that without national standards for care and a national body that advocates for us we are going to see more day cares open without anyone experienced at the helm. This is frightening for our fur kids but also for our community that looks to us for standards of care, safety, hygiene and best practice. My advice before opening a doggy day care: 🐶 go and work in a facility, learn as many things as you can 🐶 ask to meet with established and reputable businesses within the industry (pay people for their time) 🐶 be strategic and mindful of where you open. If you want to be respected don't open close to an established facility. It's a bad look for you nor the other biz. 🐶 be open to other opportunities, maybe manager role is better for you than an owner, especially if you have no experience #businesslunch #doggydaycare #bestpractice #dogdaycare #animalcare #petcare #smallbiz #businessrelationships #smallbizlife

#SeniorPetCare #HWAH #LovingASeniorDog Loving a Senior Dog: Tweaking the Routine Just like humans, dogs’ needs change as they age. The diet and exercise that served them well as young adults may no longer be what’s best. And that once-a-year trip to the vet may no longer be enough. Opt for brief, more frequent strolls to keep them happy without wearing them out. Keeping an eye on your dog during walks is super important. If you notice any signs like limping, extra panting, or if they seem hesitant to keep going, it's a sign that the exercise plan might need tweaking But as the temperature goes up, tweaking their routine is key to keeping them safe and happy. Here’s the trick to hot weather hangouts: go for walks in the early morning or evening when the sun plays nice. It keeps your furry friend from getting too hot under the collar. Don’t forget to bring water for you both, so nobody’s panting for a drink. If there’s a tree or a bench in the shade, why not take five and chill? Want to help support senior pets? Here are some things you can do: Share this post to a friend who wants a new pet Promote one senior pet on Facebook or Instagram once a week (look for our hashtag #ReadyToBeAdopted) Share a Happy Tail story. Post a photo of your senior pet (and tell us why he or she rules) on our Facebook wall. 🐾 Let's make sure our furry friends are living their best lives in their golden years!
