Reunification month gets lost in the other celebratory months because it’s viewed as the expectation. It’s not considered an act of “going above and beyond.” Reunification month is the most important month. Parents facing themselves, having uncomfortable conversations and experiences, accepting responsibility for their actions, and overcoming adversity. Their children working through circumstances outside of their control, building stronger bonds with their families to understand grace, love and compassion. This doesn’t get recognition because what’s the picture to be posted on social media? What do you say about these folks who did this work? Our system doesn’t recognize them as “heroes” because it’s what we are supposed to do. WV subsides adoptions from foster care a great deal. Minimum $700 per month until the child turns 18 plus a Medicaid card. When a child is reunified, they don’t get any support. The case is closed. They get Medicaid if the qualify for Medicaid. Milestones should be celebrated not shamed. I’m glad to see more recognition for reunification.

It often happens that I get so caught up in my daily life (and head) but I am so thankful for having joined Latinos for Education as a 2024 Latino Board Fellow. Connecting with people who have a shared vision of Latino representation, education, and advancement is invigorating and powerful! - 40% of Fortune 1000 companies are inclusive of Latinos on their corporate boards, reflecting a 5 percentage point increase from 2022 – the second most notable increase since 2019.  - With most of the progress occurring outside of the Fortune 100, minimal progress continues in the Fortune 100, shifting from 53% to 54% in Latino representation. - While slow, Latino board representation continues to rise. The numbers have increased to 5.4% of Fortune 500 seats held by a Latino and 4.9% among Fortune 1000, a 1% and .8% respectively, one of the most notable increases for both segments since 2020. You're so right. So many children want to experience the luxury of watching a movie at a theater but it's too expensive and most SA films don't get to be promoted here, for us with us. There's a lot of South African films I've found on Netflix, showmax but have never heard of outside of me looking, actively looking. It also reminds me of what Penuel Mlotshwa said. His idea on what cinemas can do is looked down on when it has so much potential to excell. S A films being promoted ekasi, could also be a start coz people only watch what broadcasting channels provide ( which is mostly nonensense that feeds the mind air). We just had a whole #BredgetonAaffair last week whereas there's so many SA filmmakers who attended (the masses included). The same energy I saw for #BlackPantha and #ShakaIlembe. If we had this energy for all our SA films and had them marketed even in our small or big communities, those who aspire to be, will definitely know it is possible. If we watched more SA films, or at least run a movie marathon for films by us for us (something Ntokozo Mlaba did in Alex with #Mapantsula) it would awaken a lot of raw and unmatched talent that can be led in the right direction IF there's good mentors around. A few film makers can understand how difficult it is to host anything in the hood (especially if it has nothing to do with partying and substance abuse), mainly because everything will come out your own pocket alone and will be extra difficult, but it's doable. Hosting a movie night in the hood is bizarre to the mind, but that's only because Black people don't believe that they deserve such luxury, they understand it to be something for fancy people with money, same as going to the beach. So I'm so happy that #Alerandra was one of the first Kasi to get this experience because a lot of films and series are shot there, but nothing is done for them to enjoy those films, they don't even host a #filmpremiere night where the event itself honours the people that helped put it together. We will make it possible, with or without proper funding because we are used to it already. I find myself teaching #DramaticArts and #Scriptwriting for free in underprivileged areas because I was once that child that was taken out the gutter to better my life and my skills thanks to Oliver Schmitz and Marietta. there's so much talent, THERE IS SO MUCH TALENT IN SA's underprivileged areas. These kids don't have access to auditions (proper auditions), film workshop opportunities (I'm specifically speaking of Sharpville now where I relocated to in order to help spread some wings),though they do have access to a lot of street bashes with celebrity lineups. I'm with you my brother, we are with you. My partner and I are in the process of building the biggest and best creative arts and sports academy for this very reason. We want to birth creatives from the ground up, we aim for these kids to have access to everything in one academy and create their own magic

So excited to bring the latest evolution of our Organizational Identity to the masses. In 2018, we set out to start refreshing and modernizing the Little League brand, so that we can resonate with the next generation of Little Leaguers and their support networks. Since then, we've revamped our logos, strengthened our mission, and now, we're excited to strengthen our purpose, vision, and core values. Institutions don't become institutions by staying stagnant. It's about mindful reimagination and reinvention. Staying true to yourself while staying true to your constituents. As we continue to connect with the next generation entering the parenting and volunteering space, we are looking forward to bringing this strengthened Organizational Identity to life!
