Small cell lung cancer is a rare fast-growing lung cancer. It can affect anyone but it typically affects people who have a long history of smoking tobacco. Healthcare providers can cure some people if the disease is found early; for others, they can help them live longer. The only way to prevent small cell lung cancer is to stop smoking. Genetic testing can help to detect the most common genetic changes that we test for in lung cancer are in the genes EGFR, KRAS, and ALK. #smallcelllungcancer #fastgrowinglungcancer #genetictesting
