As a relative newbie to the Middle East Region, the thing I love about NES is the team that surrounds me. The knowledge we share daily goes a long way to helping me succeed in the role. A big part of this is Business Development Director, Michael Lee. Despite his busy schedule he is always able time for me to pick his brain, offer advice and guide me through some of the challenges I face. Here he is providing valuable insights in which he discussed his love for the team and explained the factors that led him to pursue his current career path. Share your thoughts on what you believe sets your team apart and what drives your career choices! 🌟 #NESFircroft #BusinessDevelopment #EVP #teamwork

The job you hate might be someone else’s dream job. Have you ever heard this saying when you’re at your lowest, and suddenly, you’re reminded to be grateful? I came across Tai ChooTack - The ExcelSifu's post today about gratitude, and it made me reflect on the past few years. Here’s what I realized: 1. I’ve had the privilege of traveling internationally and domestically, with fully sponsored trips in both business and economy class. 2. I’ve learned to distinguish between different hotel star ratings and the varying services they provide. 3. I’ve been able to convince others based on my experiences, and it resonates with them. 4. It took a lot of courage to transition from one dream job to another. 5. I’ve been given opportunities to prove my capabilities in the corporate world. Ranting isn’t fair, productive, or helpful. Instead, I choose to count my blessings in many ways. I aim to contribute more without expecting anything in return (I’m excited to start a mentor & mentee program soon). I need to work on my weaknesses, attitude, and how I handle things when they don’t go my way. This mindset makes me more grateful. Lastly, I always compare myself to those less fortunate, which keeps me grounded and humble. My go-to advice: dream, work hard, and pray. Allah/God will provide. Stay grateful, and give more. P.S.: What’s one thing you’re grateful for that highlights your H1 2024? #malaysianhospitality #businesstravel #corporate #tourism #connection

You can find your Dream Role at any time of the year - even Dec, Jan or Feb. Last week a client, Jessica, landed her dream role. When we met, she had felt trapped for 3 years in a role that didn’t play to her strengths and a sector that didn’t align with her values. She wanted to change roles, but had lost confidence in her abilities and employability. And she was worried about having to drop her salary if she moved. She worked through my 7 Step Career Change program, which gave her: - Confidence in her strengths - Clarity about her direction, and - A roadmap to make it a reality. The result: She has just landed her dream role – one that plays to her strengths, is energising and fulfilling, and pays what she needs. She has moved from senior project management in an insurance firm to working in her dream sector of sustainability as a program and project manager. She cannot believe the professional development she has access to and how happy she is. If you’d like some help with your career change, send me a msg and I’ll be in touch with some options. Or join me for a free Dream Role Masterclass in January and get clear on your dream role and the roadmap to make it a reality in 2025: https://bit.ly/3PCc0by

🌟I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.🌟 These powerful words from William Ernest Henley resonate deeply when we consider our careers. Too often, we fall into the trap of letting our careers be dictated by circumstances, waiting for opportunities to come our way. Flip the script, decide to take control, and steer your career ships in the direction you desire. As professionals, we possess the power to shape our own destinies and to chart our own courses. Instead of merely reacting to what our employers offer, let's be proactive in pursuing our goals. Let's invest in ourselves, acquire new skills, seek out mentors, and network with intention. Let's dare to dream big and take calculated risks to turn those dreams into reality. Remember, our careers are ours to own. We have the ability to carve out paths that align with our passions, values, and aspirations. So let's embrace our roles as masters of our fate and captains of our souls, and sail confidently into the future we envision. #ExecutiveAssistant #CareerDevelopment #PersonalGrowth #ProfessionalEmpowerment #TakeControl #OwnYourFuture 🚀

The Journey vs. The Destination: What Truly Matters? In our personal and professional endeavors, we often prioritize the destination, aiming for achievements and milestones. However, I've come to appreciate that the journey holds equal, if not greater, significance. Here's why: - **Growth and Learning:** Overcoming challenges along the way shapes our skills and character, fostering personal and professional development. - **Connections:** Building relationships during the journey can lead to invaluable partnerships, enriching our networks and experiences. - **Resilience:** Navigating obstacles cultivates resilience and adaptability, crucial qualities in today's dynamic landscape. - **Enjoyment:** Finding joy in the process can bring more fulfillment than the destination itself, motivating us through small wins. Ultimately, it is the experiences, growth, and connections forged during the journey that truly enhance our lives. What are your thoughts on this? Do you lean towards valuing the journey or the destination more? I'm eager to hear your perspectives!

Lessons from the climbing wall which can be applied to real life: 💪Sometimes you get presented with an opportunity that's a bit more challenging than the path you had planned - take it and seize the chance to learn (board climb vs climbing lots of routes within my ability) 🎥 Accountability helps: I'd tried this route a couple of times but couldn't brave the last move - popping the camera on and succumbing to my inner show-off/perfectionist forced me to give that extra push! 🙈 It's okay to be proud of something tough that you did and wanting to share it New jobs are tough - so exciting and full of opportunity but also occasionally overwhelming in trying to identify the tangible tasks! It's nice amongst that challenge to come and do something which has a clear route, start and finish point and where I know what success looks like! #Climbing #LifeLessons
