➡️ 71% of children in California do not receive their recommended developmental screenings within their first three years.
➡️ 60% of babies don’t receive their recommended well-child screenings within their first 15 months.
But it’s not for lack of trying.
A recent article from the Los Angeles Times shared stories of parents calling pediatrician’s offices over and over again to book visits, only to be repeatedly told there are no openings.

A plague, for sure.
We've already said it before,...
But it's more powerful when it's a midwife that talks about it.
Paper records in hospital are a plague.
🥵 They can be lost, stolen,
🥵 Caregivers lose their time searching them everywhere,
🥵 There can't be two, three, four... persons filling it at the same time...
While digital solutions exist to avoid that.
👇🏻
Galeon is a revolution for the hospitals that are still on paper records (and more).

It’s #primarycare week. Here are some reflections from a primary care doc!
There has been a lot of interest in #primarycare in the #policy and #financing and PE stratosphere.
However, none of these conversations really reflect the essence of primary care: it’s longitudinal patient -physician relationship;it is the trust and it is the #shareddecisionmaking that that takes years to finesse - after knowing your patients for months, years and decades.
In today’s fast moving world, it seems almost like a dinosaur. However, we all seek trust, care, and a sense of community.
For primary care to be at the cutting edge-we have to build the sense of commitment and #trust while empowering our primary care #physicians to be #leaders of the teams and who are not mere scribes who do referrals or prior authorizations.
For primary care to be successful in today’s day and age, we have to reinstate the pride of being a primary care doctor. We need to ensure that medical students don’t have crushing debt and that the field values cognitive work as much as it does procedures .
And finally to fulfill our patient needs we have to leverage #technology to work for the primary care #doctors.
Not “ retrain primary care doctors to use technology”.
We have to bring back the #joy of being a PCP.
And yes the photo credit goes to ChatGPT.
The post is entirely mine :)
What a great week at Healthcare Contact Center Times! Throughout our panel discussion, the common theme is that collaboration and effective partnerships is the key to ensuring success within the walls of the contact center and beyond.
EDCi | Jake Beyer | Heidi Kunde
We're enjoying a wide-ranging panel discussion today at #HCCT24 with Adam Ackerman of EDCi, Candace Dietrich of Carson Tahoe Health and Jacqueline Pilon at State University of New York Upstate Medical University.
Some snippets:
"The #contactcenter isn't just a group of people in the corner doing something," Candace says. "It's critical for the success of your patients to build relationships with different departments in your team, especially IT."
"Time is a perception," Jacqueline says. "Every second feels like a minute, especially for your nurses in a time of crisis. That's why sharing reports with your team is so important because you can show them what's actually happening; not their perception of what's happening."
