Pearls of Wisdom! Embracing feedback and criticism is a crucial skill for leaders who want to succeed in both their personal and professional lives. Accepting constructive criticism can open the door to growth, new perspectives, and meaningful change. It takes courage to listen to critics, but in doing so, leaders can strengthen their resilience and adaptability. As Adam Grant wisely said, "Strong leaders engage their critics and make themselves stronger. Weak leaders silence their critics and make themselves weaker." By engaging with feedback rather than dismissing it, leaders not only build trust and respect but also create a culture of continuous improvement. Let's remember that growth comes from learning, and learning often comes from listening to those who challenge us. Discover more with TAOLIN! Leadership is Influence, nothing more, nothing less - John C Maxwell. True leaders understand that respect isn't derived from authority, but from the influence they wield over others. It's a manifestation of genuineness and the positive impact they instill in people's lives. The key to influence lies in a leader's authenticity, managing both the good and the bad to uplift others, transcending mere skills or knowledge to wield the transformative power of the mind. When guiding aspiring leaders in steering People and Organizations, stressing the significance of authenticity, groundedness, leading with respect, empathy, and heart is paramount over rules or deadlines. Reflecting on my days at IIMB, my professor of Organisation Structure and Design emphasizing the essence of people in organizations remains pivotal - they are the ones Leaders serve! What kind of Leadership have you in your experience seen a workplace thriving? #Leadership #Influence #Teamwork #OrganizationStructure #OrgDesign #Authority #

As a leader, I think a lot about team health and developing leaders that empower the people around them to achieve excellence together. Soft skills like emotional intelligence are crucial and distinguish high-potential employees (HIPOs) from those that are only high-performers. Identifying emotional intelligence in a leader isn't always easy. Some key attributes from Alesha Herbert that can help you include: ✅Empathy; HIPOs are very aware of what other people are experiencing and feeling and dedicate effort to support them. ✅Humility; HIPOs are open to acknowledging what they don’t know and aren’t afraid to find the knowledge they need from people above or below them in the organization. “Many experts suggest that humble leaders enable high-performance in the workplace.” ✅Relationship-building skills; HIPOs delight in partnerships and effortlessly connect with people at every level of the organization, and more. I Help Transform Leaders & Cultures to Drive Organizational Excellence | Expert in Leadership Development & Change Management PROSCI
When communication relies on threats, it does more harm than good. Instead of inspiring action, it fosters disengagement and resentment. Leaders who resort to this style may achieve short-term compliance, but they ultimately erode trust and stifle initiative. Leadership is about influence, not control. Instead of making demands, ask how you can support your team. Clear expectations, active listening, and encouragement create an environment where people feel valued and motivated. If you find yourself issuing ultimatums, it might be time to reflect on your approach. True leaders inspire through respect and understanding, not fear. #Leadership #Empowerment #Trust

I often recommend to leaders read the book 'The Courage to be Happy.' It's based on Adlerian psychology, narrated as fiction, and revolves around the theme of individuals' perceptions of inferiority and their compensatory behaviours aimed at overcoming these feelings. These behaviours can significantly impact decision-making, one's level of influence, and, in general, a leader's ability to be bold. #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #leaders

How to Build Strong Leadership True leadership isn’t just about power or authority; it’s about inspiring others and driving meaningful progress. To lead effectively, you need to focus on five key qualities: 1. Self-Awareness: Leaders must know both their strengths and areas where they can grow. This awareness helps them make informed decisions. 2. Accountability: Taking responsibility for actions, both successes and mistakes, builds trust within a team and sets a standard for transparency. 3. Humility: A great leader listens, learns, and respects the input of others. They don’t need to have all the answers and are open to feedback from their team. 4. Empowerment: Leadership is about encouraging others to grow and take initiative. 5. Continuous Learning: In an ever-evolving world, leaders must remain adaptable and committed to ongoing personal and professional development. By mastering these principles, leaders can inspire trust, create a collaborative environment, and drive success in the long term. #LeadershipDevelopment #StrongLeadership #InspiringLeaders #LeadershipQualities #LeadWithIntegrity #AccountableLeadership #HumbleLeadership #GrowthMindset #LeadershipJourney #LeadershipTips #TeamSuccess #LeadershipMindset #EffectiveLeadership #DriveSuccess #LeadershipPrinciples #IdTherapy

9 out of every 10 change leaders make this mistake. Are you one of them? --- > Believing that your main task as a change leader is to "manage" peoples resistance. Can we ditch this antiquated concept already? IMO this makes two assumptions that won't serve you: 1) Non resistors are right and resistors are wrong. 2) All change will cause resistance. The first one creates an oppositional dynamic, while the second one creates a context of skepticism rather than enthusiasm (for the change). As Paul Gibbons says, "resistance is engagement, just not the kind you want yet." It is both unhelpful and naïve to label every objection and behaviour as resistance. Your main task as a change leader is to: 1) provide an emotionally safe context where people can express reservations; and 2) Create a context of collaboration and mutual value- not opposition. #strategyexecution #changemanagement #Leadership

A leadership package combining authority, respect, and integrity creates a balanced and effective approach. By making decisive and responsible decisions, valuing and acknowledging contributions, and adhering to ethical principles, leaders can inspire their teams, build trust, and achieve organizational goals. Here is a checklist that combines these qualities ➡ Authority. Make informed decisions, delegate tasks, communicate clearly, and be accountable. ➡ Respect. Listen actively, recognize contributions, maintain professionalism, and build trust. ➡ Integrity. Be honest, keep commitments, act ethically, and lead by example. If you agree with this, let me know in the comment section. #Leadership #Mentorship #Integrity #Executiveassistant #Mindset #Follow #ChristineNdwiga Video Source #SocialMedia
