He went live, broadcasting the truth to a world dominated by corporate interests. Fast forward to today, and that future has become our reality—but with a twist. Now, **we are all Edison Carter**. Thanks to platforms like Streamlee (and others), going live is no longer a privilege of the few. From our phones, we can broadcast to the entire world instantly. For a while I was having a recurring dream. I’d be sitting down for dinner with my now teenage kids whilst in the background another environmental disaster was playing out on TV, and my kids would look me in the eye and ask me ‘What did you do to help?’. I had no answer. Just an overwhelming feeling of shame. Being able to look them in the eye and answer that question if it ever comes up in real life was all the motivation I needed. I spoke with @YouAreHere about my intent, and without hesitation they were all in. There was an immediate shared desire to use our talent as creatives & filmmakers to make a thought-provoking contribution to the climate conversation. It took a lot of work to land on an effective concept that struck the right balance between hope and fear. The film is deliberately uncomfortable. A nerve-touching experience that urges action on a personal and global level. There’s so much we can do as individuals to limit climate change, but the single biggest impact we can make in the immediate future is with our vote. There’s big elections happening this year. Vote for decent human beings that have tangible climate change plans. Our future depends on it. I want to personally thank @jeremygoold @iamlucawilding @hmalpz @christyankersen for hanging on to this one and helping me see it through. @davidfoulkes_ for smashing the visuals. @vicente_ben_design for crafting a beautiful space, @jenmackie_editor on the edit, and @d.phipps.colour @company_3 and @rascalstudio_ for the amazing post work.
