I know a fair few people who work in the tech sector. I'd love to get an idea of how many people they work with who come from a lower socio-economic background. I'd love to know if anyone even cares, or thinks it's important. One of the Class Divide podcast episodes I made focuses on life after school for young people from lower socio-economic backgrounds - it's well worth a listen if you need some useful context on why we are where we are with a lack of representation. https://lnkd.in/ezbbJdmz

#ICYMI: DEI initiatives and investments not only give companies a competitive edge, but they can be the very means to mend our broken society. This guest knows firsthand the effect that #DEI initiatives can have on #OrganizationalCulture, #retention, innovation, and society at large. This week on the #MissionForward podcast, Carrie Fox sits down with Allison Wyatt, co-founder of Edgility Consulting, to discuss the persistent wage gaps that plague our society and the bold steps required to build intentional #equity in the workplace. As Allison shares, achieving #PayEquity is just one piece of the puzzle in an inherently inequitable society. Biases, stereotypes, and inflexible work cultures continue to impede advancement opportunities, especially for women. Truly sustaining progress, Allison argues, requires tackling these #SystemicBarriers head-on. Listen in to learn how to begin creating #EquitablePractices in your workplace today: https://lnkd.in/dvgT3aaw Learn more about Edgility Consulting's incredible work in compensation planning and beyond: https://lnkd.in/eEkFJduw #Communications #Podcast #SocialImpact #CourageousLeadership

I lead a team that helps foundations, government, and corporations strategically prioritize Black and Brown leadership to redistribute money, accelerate impact, increase profitability, and deepen mission fulfillment.
What does the world demand of us in this moment as social impact consultants? Jeff Bradach has answers. As co-founder of The Bridgespan Group, Jeff leads its strategy for accelerating the social impact of foundations, philanthropists and nonprofit organizations. As societal change agents for hire, consultants are brought in to support clients in thinking expansively about an issue, contemplate how to best improve conditions for the people that they care about, and develop right sized solutions by pushing institutions and the systems that they operate in. Needless to say, it takes a diverse set of lived experiences to do this with effective, efficient, and compelling results. Embracing racial equity just makes good business sense. Demographic shift is not in the future. 2030 is now. In this conversation on The R.A.C.E. Podcast, we dive deeper into The Bridgespan Group’s recipe for change as it grappled with the internal work of centering racial equity in its culture, policies, and practices. Data, figures, and researched best practices have their place, but you can’t intellectualize this work. At a certain point, you’ve got to - as Jeff says - “feel it in your bones.” Racial equity work is not done “for other people.” It’s got to be personally embodied and driven by your own humanity. What are YOUR takeaways and reflections from this episode? You can listen in at the link below. #ChangeAgents #RacialEquity #SocialImpact #Consulting #Humanity

IImagine the impact of a culture that values employees beyond the workplace, focusing on their holistic well-being and the communities they live in. For nearly 60 years, I have advocated for the marginalized, aiming to create a positive difference in their lives. As I prepare for retirement after a challenging battle with illness, we are launching a podcast with Toni Reece and Gammy Nieves called Humanizing Profit. This podcast aims to shed light on the importance of considering the entirety of a person's life, not just their work life, and how this approach can positively influence the communities they are part of. By fostering a culture of partnership with employees, we can create a work environment where individuals thrive, leading to a ripple effect of change in households, blocks, and entire communities. It's about embracing long-term thinking that benefits everyone involved, prioritizing community impact over short-term gains. Let's envision a world where every individual feels valued and empowered, where businesses contribute to a thriving and supportive environment for all. #HumanizingProfit #CommunityImpact #EmployeeWellbeing
