I am paranoid. Am I ready to be a manager? There are 4 major categories of paranoia in this context - 1️⃣ Holding on to your creations - You are so attached to what you built and do not want to give that job to someone else; maybe cos you don’t trust someone with that or cos you just to attached to that 2️⃣ Time management - Do I have the bandwidth to train a new person and also deliver on my work at the same time? 3️⃣ Fear of replacement - What if the new person takes over all my tasks and I become redundant? 4️⃣ Abundance of work - With addition of more resources, the management might expect a multiplier of delivery I talked to my mentors about this & One of the biggest analogy that I came across in this topic was “Am I ready to be a father?” & here is an interesting conversation - Them: What is your age? Me: 30 Them: What is the age of your father? Me: 61 Them: Wrong. Me: (I am taken aback) he is my father, how are you saying I am wrong? I know his age better. Them: The correct answer is 30. He became a father only when you were born! Maybe no one is a born manager before they hired anyone. Cos the first step to becoming a Good Manager, is to trust and hire! Thoughts? P.S. We at Rocketlane hiring for a Business Operations Analyst!

Why is data-driven hiring the best for people? Well, it helps you reduce the noise around hiring - no more irrelevant CVs. 👥 Build human connections by systematically finding the right people from a crowd of thousands, allowing you to focus on the things that actually matter - the person. 🎯 Truly understand the person behind the screen, rather than seeing humans as a piece of paper on a CV by allowing data to pinpoint a candidate’s strengths and weaknesses. 🧠 Make better decisions and build winning teams, not by removing the humans from hiring, but by utilising the most modern technology available. With our algorithmic matching that is completely possible. Building a high-performing team with a supportive work culture is not easy, but making sure every new hire raises the bar as well as supports your work culture is even harder. Does your business want to hire more efficiently and try the future of recruitment? Well, we are here for you. ツ

There are many ways to screw up hiring a virtual assistant. Here are the 3 biggest mistakes that I see people making: 1- Looking for someone who can do EVERYTHING (A unicorn) 2- Not having a clear definition of the tasks they want to be completed 3- No operating procedures to follow I have heard people complain time and again that they hired someone and it did not work out. “They just didn't know how to do things the way I wanted” In my experience, this is YOUR fault 85% of the time. Nobody can read your mind. Nobody understands your business like you. Nobody can guess how you want things done. Create clear and concise tasks and expectations. Or keep doing everything yourself 🤷🏽♂️
