Integration of social determinants of health (SDoH) into multilevel cardiovascular health interventions is crucial for reducing health disparities and improving health behaviors and access. Community involvement at all stages is necessary to develop well-informed interventions that provide affordable and accessible resources to vulnerable populations. Call to Action: While developing accurate baselines are necessary, doing so will be insufficient in achieving optimal health. We must also focus on prevention and morbidity reduction, bolster antiracism efforts, and pivot towards health care integration. #maternalhealth #morethananumber
A new manuscript is raising questions about the U.S. maternal mortality rate. This is irresponsible and minimizes the many lives that have been lost and the families affected. We must improve our data systems while continuing on the path of addressing the maternal health crisis and the racial health disparities that exist. Read our full statement: https://bit.ly/3Tzm5HI
