The other day, I had a $7K day. Honestly, it almost felt too easy because I didn’t really do much. My day went like this: I woke up, did yoga, took a walk, grabbed a ShackBurger at Madison Square Park, checked out book covers at Barnes & Noble (working on the 2nd edition of my book), picked up some apples at Trader Joe's, and headed home. Two people joined my program—no sales calls. One of them paid in full, and the other set up weekly payments. It felt strange because it didn’t require much effort, but I’m not saying it’s "effortless." It didn’t start this way. I put in countless long nights and early mornings. But now, I’ve reached a point where business is enjoyable with low stress and high profit. I could probably push harder and get more out of it. But my goal is to build a business around my life, not the other way around. I know I can take a weekend off and everything still runs. It comes down to my core belief: Build a business my way. Business is like creating the perfect look. You’re the stylist, and every element plays a role. Top → Followers Bottoms → Leads Accessories → Clients Shoes → Repeat Clients Too many people just focus on the top, building a look that grabs attention, but doesn’t complete the outfit. Without all the right pieces, your business doesn’t flow. You may have lots of followers but no leads, or leads but no clients. I used to feel like I was always missing a key piece. - Followers not growing - Leads not converting - Clients not coming in Now? Can we talk about trademarking in the beauty industry!! As a beauty professional and business owner trademarking my business name was a no brainer. But for many of my colleagues I know it’s a part of their business that is overlooked. And sometimes I can’t help but to think it’s because they’re not in for the long term, they treat it like a side hustle, or they don’t have confidence that their business will last for decades or generations for that matter. And that’s exactly why I trademarked The Browtique™️. Top five reasons I trademarked my business name: ✔️Expansion- I believed my business can reached heights beyond my wildest dreams. ✔️Asset- Once it becomes a multi million dollar business it is an asset. (It’s an asset now but the stakes will be higher) ✔️Legal protection- I work too hard for someone to take my business name away. And I forced to start from scratch. ✔️Brand awareness-globally recognition is the goal. Brand recognition builds trust and loyalty. Is your business trademarked?? It’s okay! It’s not too late.

😫 My client was just about to spend £10k on yet another business coach!!! Until she read one of my posts, and the penny dropped ... She'd already worked with several coaches. She had a strong marketing strategy in place. She had got crystal clear on her messaging and who her offer was for. She'd done lots of work on her mindset. But she wasn't experiencing the boost in sales she had expected. She felt frustrated! Imposter syndrome started to creep in. Was it her? Was it her offer? Maybe it was too expensive? She started looking for another coach, but then came across one of my posts and that's when the penny dropped. She realised she didn't need yet another coach. Her problem had a much quicker solution. While she was busy investing in coaching, and messaging and mindset work, she had forgotten to invest in the one thing that her audience could actually SEE - her image!!! She'd stopped using her old brand photos, and had started using lots of selfies instead, because that's what she'd seen other people do on social media. And thought it was ok. But it wasn't ... My client quickly realised that all her selfies did was create a "budget" feel around her offer, as opposed to the "premium service" vibe she was actually trying to create. This simply left her clients confused. Was her offer a premium service worth £5k? Or was it a budget offer with a £5k price tag? You can see why they didn't buy, don't you? During her ICONIC brand photoshoot we created images that perfectly positioned my client within her niche. Her £5k offer now felt aligned with her image. If a new client was to look at her sales page, they would automatically think that her £5k offer was worth every single penny. And that's exactly what they did. I spend my week #decluttering my wardrobe, my office space, my phone, my old notes and while doing so i came across this! My initial list for company names while I was starting Brandistry. So many options, so many iterations, I remember following the process: Trademark search, sharing poll forms with friends and family, domain availability and so much more. I wanted to keep another name but unfortunately it was already registered so instead of following my heart which would restrict usage in the long run, I chose logic from a marketeer's point of view and formulated BRANDISTRY now serving clients across the globe! Starting my biz, I felt an incredible amount of imposter syndrome when I was asked about my experience. And in those early days, I priced my services accordingly. You see, my background isn’t in styling, but I have 20+ years in marketing, branding and client service. What I initially perceived as a deficit (my lack of work history in the fashion or retail industry) I came to understand was a huge benefit that perfectly prepared me for what I needed to be successful in my role as a business owner: * Being around artists and designers my whole life, I knew intimately about balance, design, proportion and colors. * As a client services leader, I knew what it meant to create a world-class client experience where they felt heard, understood and delighted. * Writing thousands of creative briefs solidified my ability to synthesize a multitude of information, and break it down into simple ideas. * Thousands client meetings and presentations - taught me how to stand up confidently in front of people and communicate effectively. * Having marketed and branded everything from Fortune 500 companies to individuals, I know what it takes to stand out and differentiate yourself. * My parents are both entrepreneurs and I experienced the trials and tribulations and freedom in following what you love. * Being a social and content creator in many of my roles, I knew how to promote and sell myself online. My path isn't the same as others in my industry, no doubt. Even to this day, I remind myself that every stop on my path was perfectly plotted to get me here. I share this in the hopes that others who are feeling the struggle of starting something new will have the courage to keep going, and know you aren’t alone. I also share this because if your path looks different from everyone around you, don't shy away from it, OWN IT. (as you should own your outfit, even if it breaks tradition. Sorry, I had to say it!)
