We had a heart-warming exchange with parents during our Children for a Responsible Future forum last week, covering essential topics like social-emotional learning, multilingualism, screen time, and Sustainable Education in the early years of a child's development. This beautiful session from mothers to mothers had our experts hear out parent concerns and share their own personal experiences, while reminding parents that they are doing a great job and that every child's needs are unique. Moderated by our Head of Education May Zalat, our panel included Sari S., our Operations and Education Director and Sridevi Raghavan, Group Senior VP - Education, Quality & Sustainability at Babilou Family. They provided specific knowledge and examples on how to implement healthy practices at home, offering tangible actions for parents to support their children's growth and well-being. Thank you to all the parents who joined us, and to Inspire Me Cuisine for providing us with healthy, delicious snacks. Together, we are building a brighter, more responsible future for our children! 🌱 #EarlyYearsEducation #SustainableEducation #Parenting #ChildDevelopment #TheBlossomNursery #BabilouFamily

Reflections from the timeless wisdom of Laozi: Learning is not just about knowledge and skills but being grounded in strong values. 🌟 #mylittlegems #eunos #singapore #childcare #valuesmatter #raisingkindhearts #buddhistpreschool #mindfulkids #growingwithkindness #ChildrenAreTheFuture
"道生之,而德续之" Dao (conditions) gives birth to life, virtues nurture it. — Laozi According to Laozi, even though we exist due to conditions that come together, it is the virtues that help us grow and thrive. True development comes from cultivating kindness, compassion, and respect in our daily lives. At My Little Gems Preschool, we focus on nurturing these values in our children, helping them practice empathy and mindfulness through every interaction. By integrating values education and real-life experiences, we aim to shape not just their minds, but their hearts, encouraging them to become kind, thoughtful individuals. About My Little Gems Preschool My Little Gems Preschool is a values based preschool that focuses on developing children’s Character, Concentration and Competencies. We need to remember the goal of human development every day as we work with children, adolescents and young adults. 🎯 Let's not lose sight of the greatness of our work. Human beings are destined to achieve great things, but to do so they need to be independent and fully functional. 🏁At every stage in a child's life, from childhood to adulthood, there is a developmental goal to be achieved. It is this foundation of independence that will enable the hidden potential of each human being to be developed. Fostering the independence of the individual at each stage of development means fostering a more creative and better world.☀️ #montessori #AMI #education #humandevelopment

Associate Professor in Singapore’s own early childhood education degree programme, advocating playful learning and learner agency
Grateful to the inspiring team at #Playeum and #askteachersam who worked with us to put this paper together. (Thank you from the bottom of my ♥️!). 🎁The paper is our little contribution, a small voice — to encourage teachers, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents to let children play freely when possible because our children need these experiences to grow healthily, all-round. 🛝Children look up to us and need us to give them permission to play; they also benefit when we step back and watch from the corner of our eye how play helps transform them into strong, imaginative and creative beings. 🪴🍄 People today have little time to read 🥲So this white paper was not easy to create as we wanted a short-enough paper 😅to cater to our local audience of busy parents and professionals, but there exists A LOT of existing scientific papers that show the benefits of free play with supportive / responsive adults standing by. Eventually, we had to choose our references judiciously and settle for what we thought really matters as a first installment. ⭐️We are not saying ‘play to learn’ or ‘play with screen devices’… we chose to focus on more physical, tactile and social play 🪁🛼🏀which can get loud, chaotic and even physically risky in our adult eyes. Hence the title… Are we brave enough to let our children play?😊 We will share more if you find the white paper useful/encouraging. We certainly hope to create a little social movement to return children the right to play and have joyful childhoods, through which our children can grow to be healthier, mentally stronger, more responsible, and more empathetic people.
#SUSSSocialImpact: Are We Brave Enough to Let Our Children Play? Supported by research across multiple disciplines, it highlights key play experiences and offers practical steps to nurture playfulness in our homes, schools and community. It's time to take our children out this weekend to play—let's come together to enrich their lives through the power of play. NZ paradox: Global pedagogical leader in early years, yet near the bottom in funding! This stark reality, as highlighted in The Post article, shows a major disconnect between our leading pedagogy and the resources we dedicate to it. Quality early years learning is crucial for our tamariki's development, and we need to bridge this gap urgently! I'd love to hear from early years educators and parents about their experiences - how does this impact your practice or the decisions you make for your tamariki? #earlychildhoodeducation #playbasedlearning #NZ https://lnkd.in/gNNegPmS

🌈🌈Self-confidence and humanity develop in children through good upbringing in various ways. Firstly, parents and caregivers play a crucial role in instilling values of kindness, empathy, and respect in children from a young age.By teaching them to treat others with compassion and understanding, children learn the importance of empathy and grow into empathetic individuals themselves. ✨✨ Secondly, a nurturing environment that encourages exploration and learning fosters self-confidence in children. When they are supported in trying new things and are praised for their efforts, they develop a sense of belief in their abilities and become more confident in facing challenges.🌧️🌧️ Thirdly, positive reinforcement and encouragement are key factors in building self-confidence and humanity in children. When children receive acknowledgment for their achievements, big or small, they feel valued and capable, which boosts their self-esteem. Moreover, teaching children the value of helping others and making a positive impact in their community contributes to their development of empathy and humanity. 🏖️🏖️ When they engage in acts of kindness, such as volunteering or assisting those in need, they learn the importance of giving back and making a difference in the world.⚡ Additionally, fostering open communication and active listening skills helps children develop empathy and understanding towards others' perspectives. When they learn to communicate effectively and empathize with others' feelings, they build stronger relationships and contribute positively to their social environment. 💧💧 Furthermore, providing opportunities for children to develop skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution equips them with the tools to navigate challenges with confidence and empathy.☔☔☔ In conclusion, self-confidence and humanity develop in children through a combination of nurturing environments, positive reinforcement, opportunities for learning and growth, and values-based education. By cultivating these qualities early on, children grow into compassionate, confident individuals who contribute positively to their communities and society as a whole.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 #hashtags: #SelfConfidence #Humanity #ChildrenDevelopment #GoodUpbringing #Empathy #Kindness #Respect #PositiveReinforcement #CommunicationSkills #EmpathySkills #ProblemSolving #DecisionMaking #ValuesEducation #NurturingEnvironment #PositiveImpact sidramunawar #followme 💝please like and comment 💝
