On Demand CFO - I help private companies optimize cash flow for sustainable growth and increased profitability.
Meet Zoe the greyhound - aka 45 MPH couch potato. Yes, it’s true, they are one of the fastest animals on earth, and also one of the laziest. She is also dealing with these uncertain times better than I am, so I decided to take a few cues from her! Zoe: ✔Lives in the present - she doesn’t worry about the past or the future. ✔Doesn’t overthink things - no worries about what might go wrong. ✔Is energy efficient - she doesn’t waste her energy on unfruitful tasks ✔Appreciates the simple things in life - food, walks, bones, treats. ✔Gets plenty of rest - 16 hours a day ✔Speaks up when she has something to say ✔Delegates well - she relies on others and doesn't try to do everything herself. Now, it's your turn - what cues can you take from your pets, kids, significant others? #Pets #Dog #Greyhound #Leadership #LeadershipDevelopment

Experience speaks volumes. Committed to excellence with education that elevates in various hospital operations.
How effective is your ad hoc committee? (A committee that is deemed necessary for a particular purpose.) I had the opportunity to participate as a member representing my department along with 8 other department representatives. We were given the problem and were to come back within a week with a possible solution. When we returned the CEO reviewed what we had come up with and said; "what we have here is a Basset Hound". A little confused but after the explanation I will always have that Basset Hound committee dog in my mind. If you know what a Basset Hound looks like you'll understand why he said what he said. Though it's a goofy adorable dog, it's kind of odd looking and what I mean by that is the ears seem too long for its face, snout is long, body is very long, and the legs are so short that movement is a bit clunky and often they need help climbing up. As an ad hoc committee we indeed had created a Basset Hound. We had not really taken into consideration, true consideration what our solution meant to all the department members and how it would solve anything. From that time on, I always weighed out how my "solution" would affect the other departments and solve the problem. This was a great experience that I will always remember...from a Basset Hound. #medicalstaffprofessionals #leadership #privileging #credentialing #patientsafety #quality #committees #problemsolving #strategy #namss

Such a powerful reciprocated interaction for both of those individuals. 💞 Every body that we interact with daily is a human that needs genuine kindness. Not a job title or identified by their disease. While we work to make a broader impact in therapeutic areas, a great reminder to be empathic and remember there are individuals that are affected and ultimately those are the lives we are trying to improve. #empathy #humility #selfawareness #pharma #healthcare

In response to a physician saying to a cafeteria worker, “It’s nice to see you,” the person replied, “Thank you, it’s nice to be seen rather than being viewed.” Let’s share the Zulu practice of Sawubono, “I see you,” as our greeting. I’ve been around a few sheep dogs in my day, here in the U.S. and in New Zealand. Sheep dogs offer some lessons for us about leadership. Below are a few lessons that might be helpful… Sheep dogs… Care about their sheep and will fiercely protect them from danger. Our lesson? We end up with better employees when we truly care about their well-being and best interests. If all we care about is ourselves, they notice it and become fearful, lacking commitment. In spite of obstacles or difficulties sheep dogs remain focused… They continue in a positive way regardless of the challenging circumstances. The lesson for us is to remain positive and move through things. Don’t get negative and retreat from tough situations leaving the flock on their own. Sheep dogs see what’s coming up ahead and re-direct the flock… You could say sheep dogs define reality for the flock. "Look out! There's a cliff up ahead! Move to the right!" Our lesson? We need to not only see up ahead and anticipate issues, but also define reality for those we lead, explaining why we don’t go toward the cliffs! It’s interesting that sheep dogs often lead from behind… Our lesson? Allowing a key employee to help make decisions and offer suggestions on the best path can be very encouraging and empowering for someone. You almost always end up with a more committed employee. Animals were not created by chance… They were created intentionally by God (Genesis 1:25). When God surveyed all He made, He declared it VERY GOOD (Genesis 1:31). We should appreciate animals because they align with God’s pleasure in His handiwork. Really great video highlighting the difficult conversations you need to have if someone is becoming toxic on your team and you are considering whether they can continue in your company. Some great tips on how to have those coaching conversations, how to be clear on consequences and how to follow through if necessary. I'd highly recommed watching - only 6 minutes long. #toxicemployees #difficultconversations #leading https://lnkd.in/eDTwm4A9
