With our global Brixton team, the importance of effective collaboration is essential. This article serves as a powerful reminder that mutual cooperation is not a given - it's a “skill” we must consciously nurture and develop every day. When was the last time you participated in a team-building activity? In our increasingly remote work environments, these exercises are more crucial than ever for fostering trust, improving communication, and enhancing overall team performance. At Brixton, we're constantly exploring ways to strengthen our team dynamics across different time zones and cultures. We've found that regular team-building initiatives, even virtual ones, can significantly boost our collective productivity and job satisfaction. I'm curious to hear from my network: 1. What innovative team-building activities have you found effective, especially in remote settings? 2. How do you maintain strong team cohesion with globally distributed colleagues? 3. What challenges have you faced in fostering collaboration across diverse teams, and how have you overcome them? Let's share our experiences and learn from each other. After all, teamwork truly does make the dream work! PS - And yes. I could probably benefit from a bit more humility... 😉 Growth is a continuous journey, right??? #teamwork #remotework #leadershiplessons #humility

What makes a great team player? ➡️ Someone who is able to get things done? ➡️ Someone who can create community within a group of individuals? ➡️ Someone who naturally takes charge? ➡️ Someone who's a great leader? ➡️ Or a great follower? ➡️ Someone who holds themself accountable? ➡️ Someone with integrity? ➡️ Someone who is trustworthy? ➡️ Someone who is action-oriented? ➡️ Someone who is cautious? ➡️ An analytical person? ➡️ A communicative person? When it comes to conflict, the best solution is going to be found when all parties have each other in mind and want to make progress. These are things that team players keep in mind. It's as simple as that really. One of the things I love and value most about the ATYPICAL team and our culture is that supporting one another, motivating and encouraging one another, inspiring one another, and most importantly challenging one another is at the heart of everything we do. I am constantly in awe of the genuine friendships that have developed within our team and the level of care and kindness that is shown when someone is achieving (getting a promotion, excelling in their work, delivering on a big project, running a race, playing a big gig, or getting married) and equally when someone is struggling (having a hard day, going through personal difficulties, struggling with a client, battling with a creative idea, or just not feeling it). It's that level of compassion, empathy, and respect from the people you work with that in my opinion, makes the work worth it, and my job is to ensure that we never lose that! What do you love most about your team?

One of my bosses never talked about the personal lives of his subordinates. Another boss frequently checked the personal wellbeing by asking about family, children, interests, etc. Are you one of those leaders who shy away from discussing personal stories within their teams? You may be missing a great opportunity. Work is not only about talking about work. Work involves human beings and human beings are creatures of emotions. They cannot bond without an infusion of emotions. Personal stories are a great way to bring emotions to the workplace. Encouraging team members to share personal stories at work will have a powerful effect on bonding among team members. When people open up about their personal lives, they start building bonds of trust. This human bonding is critical to have open communication within the team. It affects their work positively, helps fuel collaboration, and creates an environment of trust. The lesson is simple. See your team members first as a fellow human being. Bring the work relationships into play only after that. #team #bonding #communication

In every team, the real MVPs are those who have their teammates' backs. Supporting your teammates is more crucial than ever, so take a moment to reach out to your teammates. Perhaps it's time for a heart-to-heart over coffee, or sharing some insights, or navigating a difficult political situation together. These quiet moments could make a world of difference to your colleague. Don't "just check in." Actively find ways to lift each other up. This about more than "just touching base", this is about bolstering our resilience and doing it together. I can't tell you how lucky I am to have a team that does this. We do this daily. I get direct feedback from them and we have so many opportunities to laugh about our eccentricities too. #teamwork #bestadvice #slco
