Keeping up with new web trends is a continuous effort, but we want to support our team in every way. For that, we started the TBB Talks, by continually bringing in experts to share their knowledge with our collaborators. The last lecture was about web development and artificial intelligence, given by the sharp mind of Gabriel Taveira, tech lead with more than 13 years of experience. Gabriel, we learned a lot and we’re glad for your participation and partnership. Together, we can achieve more! Maria Porcina, Guilherme da Silva Almeida, Beatriz Fraga

Ready to start your weekend with some interesting webinars? We've got you covered. 💪 Our Principal Researcher, Markus Borg, talks about "The Quest for Evidence-Based Tech Debt" in this interesting webinar in collaboration with NFJS. Tune in 🎧 https://hubs.ly/Q02Fc8Bc0 Technical debt is an established concept in the software industry. Developers know that “quick and dirty” will return and haunt you later. The interest is the extra effort you must dedicate to future development because of previous shortcuts. However, awareness of code issues rarely leads to action, and the debt is not paid off – typically because implementing new features gets higher priority. What if we could cast a light on the technical debt interest rates? In this webinar, we will discuss the business impact of poor code quality. The findings originate from original research and our ongoing quest for evidence-based technical debt management. You will leave the webinar with a new perspective on the costs of technical debt – ready to motivate the next refactoring campaign! #technicaldebt #codequality #softwareengineering

There is still time left to submit both research and practitioner papers to IEEE Security and Development 2024. Security and Development is different than your standard IEEE conference due to its design. First, it is single track, which allows you to learn about every paper accepted. Second, it is smaller in size to allow for you to have a conversation with the presenter vs the major conferences. Third, especially important for those in industry is the fact it has a practitioner track that enables applied researchers to publish the real-world work they are doing. Additional bonuses for this year's conference is we are hosting the event at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University. Security and Development will be co-located with IEEE Digital Privacy. Overall, this year is looking to be a great conference for those that submit papers here: https://lnkd.in/gX2K9zB5 Stay tuned for registration opening in the coming months. #research #publications #applications
