RWK Goodman acquires Swindon legal firm clients on retirement 🤝⚖️ Law firm RWK Goodman has acquired the current clients and files of Swindon based specialist Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence boutique firm, SJ Edney & Co, following the retirement of founder, Seamus Edney. Founded in 1996, SJ Edney & Co have acted for more than 2,150 clients, most of whom have been based in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire but some based further afield. Today, the Business of Law Digest published my article about a trend I see developing: Law departments of large corporations, annoyed with the frequency with which senior partners retire with little or no notice, are asking their law firms for greater #transparency around #retirementsuccession. For some companies, this means amending their outside counsel guidelines to require leaders of outside counsel teams to disclose who will lead these teams when senior partners retire.
