Odgers Interim Canada had the privilege of hosting an Interim Technology Leaders Workshop. Focused on Executives within IT and Technology, this session brought together professionals in Interim Executive roles and those seeking to enter this field. Some of the key takeaways include: 1) Canadian companies face an overwhelming debt of legacy technology and technology practices, and true change has to be established by a clear mandate 2) Some of the most established CIO's are interested in 'rebuild' and 'build' mandates as an Interim assignment 3) Technology Executives are actively looking for roles where they can establish, build, and implement target IT operating models 4) The advisory CIO, as an Interim or fractional mandate, can be a unique tool in developing the next generation of CIO's, by working side by side with a first time CIO, rather than relying on thought leadership, seminars, and training education 5) Interim naturally fit well with Technology, being a project based function, where the idea of a clear start and finish was something that appealed to the group A big thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, and made this event a tremendous success!
