⚡️ Breaking: UN-backed CODES coalition reveals 70% of global sustainability targets can be accelerated through digital technologies, while warning of a growing 2.9B person digital divide threatening progress. Key insights from the Action Plan: • Digital tech currently accounts for 2.3% of global emissions (equivalent to aviation) with e-waste reaching 50M tons annually - only 17.4% recycled • Three major systemic shifts identified to harness digitalization for sustainability: 1️⃣ Aligning digital transformation with sustainable development 2️⃣ Mitigating negative environmental impacts 3️⃣ Accelerating green innovation According to UN Secretary-General António Guterres: "We have a collective responsibility to give direction to these technologies so that we maximize benefits and curtail unintended consequences." I did really enjoy attending #IEMAConnect24 event last week. My key takeaways are: - Lots of people confirmed difficulty in involving executives and senior stakeholders durably onto the sustainability journey - Legislations DO help to onboard sustainability with even the most reluctant executives, even tho ideally we would prefer stakeholders to engage wilingly without having the legislator needing to intervene beyond what is necessary - Embrace sustainability meaningfully for future growth, ignore it at your own (financial) risk - Super useful insights, trends and advices on the sustainability job market - Beyond technical challenges, human challenges must not be underestimated in implementing sustainability as politics are always not too far away from sustainability decisions because of the changes they might imply for society - A good example has been provided with the example of how the success of a circular business model depends heavily on the circular customer journey Now really looking forward to the in-person IEMA Connect 24 Live event in Bristol on Thursday 👍

🌍 This Monday, our Co-Founder Nicolas Ciarfaglia led an inspiring session at Instituto Baikal, covering three essential topics for businesses navigating the path toward sustainability: 1️⃣ Context, Figures & Market Trends 2️⃣ Carbon Credits: Opportunities for Business and Sustainability 3️⃣ Measuring Carbon Footprint: Scope 1, 2, & 3 Nicolás highlighted how major companies like Apple and Microsoft are driving the shift toward decarbonizing their supply chains, requiring all suppliers to be carbon neutral by 2030. This trend will impact the entire value chain, and as Nicolás emphasized: "We are all someone’s Scope 3." In other words, no business is untouched by this transformation, and evolving regulations and market demands are accelerating this change. ✨ His talk underlined the urgency for businesses to measure and reduce their emissions. As more companies move toward sustainability, staying ahead of this global movement is critical to remaining competitive. Sustainability is not only about tech for good. What do I mean by that? 👇 When we look at the data provided by the latest “Future of Enterprises” report, it clearly shows that companies excelling in sustainability are also hitting milestones when it comes to finances, talent, and digital transformation. Moreover, 95% of sustainability front-runners view 5G as a catalyst for innovation, being key for competitiveness and development.
