How can you do physical therapy in a virtual setting? We hear this question a lot. According to Heidi Ojha - the term “physical therapy” is a misnomer for what Aware Health does. The most modern research shows that MSK diagnosis and treatment requires so much more than exercise therapy. Modern research shows that a combination of physical, psychological and environmental factors should be considered for effective treatment. Our providers work synchronously and deeply with each patient to understand them holistically. Virtual sessions are a great channel for this dialogue. And then, we spend time educating the patient on what’s going on in their body. We have digital tools that can really aid us in this piece. Finally, treatment plans are delivered electronically so the patient always has their instructions on demand. So yes, it is possible to do “PT” in a virtual world. And you don’t need a lot of fancy equipment for it to be effective. Watch this video to learn more about Aware Health’s approach to “PT.”
