On May 11th, Leadership Dutchess executed its class project by delivering the Hudson Valley Hoedown at Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue. A rollicking good time was had by all, from the mechanical bull, food trucks, photo booth, cornhole, and a variety of exciting local treasures to raffle. The local band, Hillbilly Parade, really brought the house down, too! We thank all of the class project’s sponsors, donors, and partners for supporting this important event! On April 20, the Youth Leadership Track 1 students and mentors collaborated with Mental Health America of Dutchess County and Rebuilding Together Hudson Valley to construct a children’s literacy installation at Pershing Park in Poughkeepsie. In coordination with these partners, the students assisted with the insertion of storyboard posts for popular children’s books. This project will support family time, outdoor activities, and socialization for the children and families who use Lilly’s Park (an MHA-sponsored project at Pershing Park). The students coordinated with MHA and Rebuilding Together Hudson Valley for months leading up to the Day of Service. In the process, the students learned and applied valuable skills in event planning and corporate philanthropy. We thank Desiree King and her team at MHA, and Darcy McCourt and her team at Rebuilding Together Hudson Valley for their hard work and initiative in making this project meaningful for the Youth Leadership students. #DutchessCounty #GivingBack #HudsonValley #RebuildingTogether Find out more about Youth Leadership: https://lnkd.in/e8YYKGPE
