Did you know an estimated 41% of ill health in the transport and warehousing sector stems from work-related stress, depression, or anxiety? * For HGV drivers spending long hours on the road, loneliness can amplify stress and mental health challenges. After all, it can be really tough when you're alone with your thoughts for extended periods of time. But here's the thing: a problem shared is a problem halved. That's why all of us must look out for signs that a fellow driver might be struggling, especially at service stops. Sometimes, a simple conversation or lending an ear can make all the difference. Let's create a community where we support each other's mental well-being on and off the road. Together, we can drive positive change and ensure no driver feels alone in their journey. 💚 #MANTruckAndBus #peopledriven #MentalHealthAwareness #StressAwareness #TruckersMatter

𝟱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄... What a joy to see this client's Review on Amazon. I am always full of gratitude for those who care to share, for that sharing may be just what someone else is looking for. Amazing book on an amazing concept the tension release experience 'I read Caroline's book and then did her programme very intrigued by the concept of tension release. Wow is all I can say. The book did not disappoint and neither has doing the programme and becoming a regular releaser myself. I could not put the book down - so intrigued by Caroline's journey into tension release and then her son Daniel's journey too, along with all the case studies. She has had some incredible results from her clients who have been on this journey. After reading her book I signed up for her online programme. What can I say apart from everyone should be taught this programme from young children to older people. it doesn't matter what age you are we all go through stresses and this is the easiest way of offloading stresses and emptying your bucket as Caroline would say. I hope that I can spread the word about this wonderful work that Caroline shares. We should certainly be looking to the future and instructing all children/ young adults to enable them to relieve stresses to prevent their buckets from overflowing which can lead to mental health issues. I highly recommend reading the book and doing Caroline's programme.' Maybe you will be inspired and curious to read it my LinkedIn friends and share your review. 🙏 It is also available on Audible too. #Education #Health #Investment #Selfhelp

I made one resolution for 2024. That was to charge my phone in a drawer and not pick it up first thing in the morning. The exception might be an emergency call from a family member and I have the guardrails set up to accept those calls before a certain hour and no others. Fortunately, I have not had any of those. The other is an early plane flight and I have to check the status at 4am to make sure the flight isn't cancelled or delayed. But those are it. I know from reading years of data how harmful social media and phone scrolling can be for my mental health. I needed to practice what I preached. So how did I do in 2024? Once I hid it in a drawer to charge, it made resisting it easier. The first week there was kind of a default to pick it up but I didn't. After that week, I never thought about it. It was such a time suck! It was like I got precious minutes back that had been stolen from me. My outlook changed so fast once it wasn't the first thing I picked up in the morning. I started the day happier and more focused. And oftentimes I go downstairs and forget my phone is still in the drawer upstairs. I don't even check what is on my calendar that day but instead, review that the night before. Or I will ask Alexa occasionally. That one change has made a huge difference. So I have added a few more like making sure it's never on the tabletop when I'm sitting with someone for coffee or lunch. It's out of sight which is out of mind. At the start, I might say to the person that we need a photo so that's taken at the start or at the end so that phone is out of the way and I can concentrate on the person in front of me. I'm going to have a gathering of my book club over the holidays (we've had this group for over 25 years) and I'm going to do the same. All phones in a basket at the door. Photo before everyone leaves. I've also made it a mission to engage with others in conversation. Not to be a pest. If they aren't into it, I disengage. If they are desperately plugging in earbuds I know they are not wanting to chat. Strong introverts need their downtime. You'd be surprised at how good it feels to be present with another human and how much you've missed it. I've had some wonderful conversations this year in airports and on airplanes. And I never force-fed myself to anyone or engaged with people who hated to talk to people on planes. When you do reach for your phone, think of someone you need to contact and send them a message. Let the first move you make be for someone else. What have you done to minimize mobile phone distractions? I'd love to hear your ideas. #mentalhealth
