An excerpt from this past weekend's The Sunday Times Ireland restaurant review: "When writing restaurant reviews we try to distance ourselves from what the chef or restaurateur might think of our words when they read them. Ditto the manager, sommelier or anyone else on staff. We arrive without expectation. We eat, pay in full and leave, just like any other customer. Reviews need not pay lip service because critics don’t owe anything to a restaurant or chef in return. What we do owe is to the readers, so every time we begin with a blank screen in recounting a restaurant experience; for better or worse, it’s with readers in mind we write, not chefs."

How API works? To understand this , lets understand, How menu card works in a restaurant ? Imagine you are at a restaurant. You, the customer, want to order food. The menu is like an API, it shows you what dishes are available and what you can ask for. You (the client) select what you want from the menu (make a request). Then, the waiter (the server) takes your order to the kitchen (the backend). The kitchen prepares your food (processes your request) and gives it back to the waiter. Finally, the waiter brings your food back to you (returns the response), and you enjoy your meal. So, API is like a restaurant menu that lets you request specific things from a system and receive a response. Client - customer Server - waiter Backend - kitchen
