The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Post

Some of the world’s greatest leaders came from humble beginnings. However, they did not let their circumstances define their success. Through hard work, observation, trial and error, and determination, they developed skills that made them great leaders. Booker T. Washington and Frederick Douglass both rose out of slavery to become successful businessmen and two of the most influential thinkers of the nineteenth century. Their ideologies helped shape the modern world and the Civil Rights Movement. Mohed Altrad was born an orphan into a nomadic Bedouin tribe in the Syrian Desert. He eventually made his way to France, where he earned a PhD in computer science. Today he owns a successful business worth over a billion dollars. Angela Merkel was raised in East Germany and watched the Berlin Wall come down. She worked as a scientist before moving into politics and serving as the Chancellor of Germany. Many other successful businesspeople grew up poor and without much opportunity, and yet they pushed their way through adversity. At The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we prioritize looking for leaders from every kind of background. We have hundreds of job openings—check them out here: https://lnkd.in/gna_mqjY #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #businessleader

One of the most important things that God gave us is our free agency. What is free agency? It is the ability to do anything we want to do, good or bad. There is a side affect to free agency however and that is consequences. There are good consequences and bad consequences. We all have the ability to take control of our lives and regardless of what we do we have to live with the consequences.

Taking ownership of your life only if god allows it. You can make decisions, take actions and work towards your goals, however if God and Jesus don’t want you to accomplish those goals, it will not happen, no matter how much you want it. Therefore do you really have ownership over your life?

I agree. Some of the world's greatest leaders came from humble beginnings. Eleanor Roosevelt is one of my heroes. She took ownership for her life, she remained optimistic, she was honest, and she measured results.
