The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Post

Do you feel burdened by your mistakes? Did you know that repentance isn’t God’s backup plan? It is THE plan for us to return to Him. If you stumble at work or in your personal life, know that God loves you and wants you to feel joy. We are not defined by our mistakes. Read then-President Dieter F. Uchtdorf’s encouraging words below: https://lnkd.in/gQrjzi-H #professionalgrowth #personalgrowth #hope

Our Heavenly Father loves us. We are your children. In difficult moments he extends his arm of love to us. Jesus Christ is our Savior.  "To that end, He sent His Son to this earth to illuminate the way and show us how to safely cross the stumbling blocks placed in our path. He has given us the gospel, which teaches the way of the disciple".

In the very fist pages of the book of mormon there is advice for all of us saying that if there are faults they are the mistakes of men and we must not condemn the things of God so we may be found spotless at the judgment seat of Christ. After 3 years serving as a Bishop for the church of Jesus Christ I have been constantly facing my own daily human mistakes and have been pleeding to God for forgiveness as well to those I have offended in the process of trying to do good things. Even things that are are small for me can hurt other´s feelings in a very strong way. So I have been learning to ask people to forgive me with much more frequency. And this is making me feel better and be a better person. This life is really a probationary state, a time to prepare to meet God. I can tell for sure…. this has been one of the most challenging periods of my own life not only because of the demands of the service in the church, but also because I have to admit my own faults and imperfections while I try to do good.

Free agency is key. It will guide us in more ways than we believe. It’s part of the best plan that we know.

Es ist eine wichtige Erinnerung daran, dass wir durch unsere Fehler wachsen und nicht von ihnen definiert werden. Die Worte von Präsident Uchtdorf sind wirklich ermutigend und bringen Hoffnung.

I know that I am raw stone that is getting grinding and polishing, and of course many times this is not fun, it hurts me….. but I have to think on the benefit and value of the final product God wants me to become. I cannot thank God and Christ enough for giving me the blessing of the Gospel and the church of Jesus Christ so I have the right spiritual compass to guide my life in the right direction, no matter how many times I stumble. The Holy Ghost has been working hard to help me get more and more humble and accept help. I am an eternal debtor to Heavenly Father, Christ and Holy Ghost for so much good and so many chances I have been given to repent myself and do things again, in the right way.

There is no one like God. In as much as we make a lot of mistakes He still loves us and gives us another chance. I thank God for loving us just the way we are. We are made perfect through Him, Jesus Christ. Thank you President Dieter F. Uchtdorf for powerful and encouraging words
