We are pleased to see #specialeducation funding getting focused attention over the next year, spearheaded by our friend Tammy Kolbe with American Institutes for Research, NORC at the University of Chicago, and Allovue. A better understanding of expenditures on #servicedelivery and program/compliance costs will help states make more informed #fundingpolicy decisions. https://lnkd.in/giCYZtT7

We are thrilled to share that CUNY ASAP|ACE is featured in the U.S. Department of Education’s new playbook, Implementing Holistic Advising and Wraparound Services to Equitably Improve Postsecondary Student Success. Katie Giardello, PhD, Senior Policy Advisor for CUNY ASAP|ACE National Replication, discussed how programs like CUNY ASAP|ACE serve as scalable and replicable models that center around comprehensive advising. As Katie shared: “We’re in a space where our sector is working to underscore the value-add of higher education as a social mobility engine and put authenticity behind pledges to close equity gaps in completion rates. For me, replicating CUNY’s ASAP model and emphasizing holistic advising and a complete set of wraparound supports for students are tactical solutions to the social problem of low college completion rates, particularly for marginalized populations we have not well-served over time.” https://lnkd.in/eQtCtZHE

Thrilled to amplify the important research from Brandi Biscoe Kenner, PhD, and her Choice-filled Lives Network team. This pivotal study transcends traditional educational metrics like GPA and standardized testing to unveil how 8 research-grounded human flourishing design principles significantly influence the well-being and academic success of over 1,800 students from diverse backgrounds. It's a call to action for a more inclusive and equitable approach to educational assessment and accountability that values the full spectrum of student experiences and outcomes. By highlighting the unique impact of these principles on various racial and ethnic groups, the report advocates for a more nuanced understanding of student success, pushing us towards policies that prioritize student identity and voice. This work is not just about rethinking K-12 accountability; it's about shaping an education system that measures what truly matters for student flourishing. Please dive into this report, embrace its insights, and work to advance a national dialogue on education that honors every student's journey. #RethinkingK12Accountability #K12Assessment #HumanFlourishing #innovation #impact #research #evidence

As more high school students than ever participate in #DualEnrollment there is an increasing focus on what we do and don’t know about which policies and practices maximize student access and success. The Dual Enrollment Research Fund will support six projects that aim to study just that. We are proud to lead one of those projects, and excited to contribute to the body of knowledge about how dual enrollment practice and policy can best support students. 🎓 Empowering Change from Within: A Spotlight on Our Partnership with the University of York! At ImpactEd Evaluation, we believe in equipping organisations with the tools they need to drive meaningful change. Our collaboration with the Access and Outreach team at the University of York exemplifies this commitment. 🌟 Working closely with the team behind the 'Shine' programme, designed to empower under-represented pre-16 students, we embarked on a journey to strengthen their evaluation capabilities. From developing a comprehensive Theory of Change to crafting a tailored evaluation framework, our goal was to put the power of evaluation firmly in their hands. 📊 Fast forward, and the Shine team is now steering the evaluation ship in-house, armed with the knowledge and tools to navigate impact measurement by themselves. Our partnership, however, continued as we have dived into further capacity-building ventures for some of their other programmes. 💡 Why share? We're not just about delivering evaluations; we're about fostering lasting impact. The University of York's story is a perfect example of our commitment to empowering organisations to evaluate, learn, and grow on their terms. Curious about our collaborative journeys? Feel free to explore the details of the case study, or send me a message to find out more. https://lnkd.in/gqPhdBSx #EmpoweringChange #ImpactEdEvaluation #HigherEducation #UniversityOfYork #ShineProgram #YorJourney

For the first time, Georgia Institute of Technology is the largest university in the state of Georgia in number of students served (we remain 4th in full-time equivalent terms that weigh down part-time enrollment). Today we serve 15,062 more students (+46%) than we did five years ago (in other words, we have grown by more than twice the total enrollment of an average American college). Our research too has grown by $340 million (+38%) in sponsored awards over the last five years reported by the NSF (2023 data will be even higher), moving up from #22 in the nation to #17 (and from #2 among universities without a medical school to #1). We committed to amplifying our impact as one of our strategic goals--to producing more talent and more ideas that power our state and our nation's competitiveness and contribute to improving the human condition,-- and, with the help of state and federal investments, philanthropic and alumni support, and the work of an amazing faculty, staff and students, we're delivering. #ProgressAndService

Building a School Research Culture through Partnerships: A Forum for Educators Tuesday 18 June 2024 at Trinity Grammar School How can schools, universities and other education-focused organisations engage in partnerships to promote a research culture? How can educators from across sectors collaborate successfully to advance research that informs and enhances practice in schools? This one-day Forum is a follow-up to last year’s Navigating School University-Research Partnerships Forum. The program is designed to inspire and provoke professional discussion and expand education research networks. Dr Sarah Loch (Pymble Ladies’ College) and Professor Nicole Mockler (University of Sydney) will present keynote addresses, while spotlights from a range of presenters on current research partnerships between schools, universities and other organisations will spark ideas for new initiatives. Roundtable discussion sessions will involve all participants in actively sharing research practice in their contexts. Educators from all sectors (pre-school, primary and secondary schools, universities, other education organisations) are invited to participate. This face-to-face Forum is free-of-charge but registrations are essential. Please click the link below to RSVP: https://lnkd.in/gdDViCw3
