Here’s some insightful business advice from our CEO, Scott Smithee, on the importance of teamwork and resilience in construction. Just like in football, where teamwork, grit, and hard work are crucial for achieving a victory, the construction industry is built on the same foundational values. At The City Rebar, we know that creating strong, lasting structures requires more than just materials; it demands a dedicated team that works tirelessly to get the job done right. Every project we undertake reflects our commitment to quality and precision, much like a football team preparing for a big game. Each member of our US-based team plays a vital role, ensuring that we meet deadlines and uphold the highest standards, no matter the challenges we face. Just as college football players push through adversity to reach their goals, we embrace the challenges of construction with the same determination and resilience. With The City Rebar, you’re not just getting a service; you’re partnering with a team that values integrity and hard work. Want to learn more? Fun Fact This Friday: Did you know that approximately 50 million tons of rebar are produced each year around the globe? This makes rebar an essential part of construction, whether it’s for residential homes or massive infrastructure projects like bridges and highways. Rebar plays a vital role in strengthening concrete, allowing it to handle tension and resist cracking. It’s often hidden from view, but it’s essential for ensuring that structures can endure the test of time and various forces, from weather to heavy traffic. This significant production figure highlights not only rebar's importance but also the advancements in manufacturing that make it more effective and eco-friendly. So, the next time you pass a construction site, remember the vital role rebar plays in building our world. #TheCityRebar #RebarDetailing #RebarEstimating #Rebar #RebarDetailer

Since starting at Rezicast Systems & Precast Homes I've had quite a few people ask how we're able to get high quality houses built to lock-up stage in just 10 days. This video is a great demonstration of the REZICAST® system, with all the walls and roof trusses for this 320m2 house installed in a single day (with the slab poured after the walls go up). It's crazy to think that we're still spending 10+ months building houses brick by brick when the technology to build houses in just 10 weeks has been around for over a decade (REZICAST® is available to any builder Australia-wide). Precast homes are also more energy efficient and disaster resilient than brick, but don't cost any more to build (and it doesn't look like concrete once it's done!). #housingcrisis #precastconcrete #construction #10days1000ways

Numbers. Don't. Lie. 40% Faster than concrete. 78% Fewer workers needed on jobsite. Do you really think Mass Timber costs are prohibitive? Just do the math. #masstimber #qualitybuildings #math #numbersdontlie #biophilia #woodconstruction #healthierbuildings
Have you ever seen the time-lapse of #AscentMKE? This is one of the core reasons we love #masstimber. It took ~6 months to build the 6-story concrete podium, and then ~6 months to build the 19-story mass timber superstructure above. The superstructure was built 40% faster (~6 days per floor) than if built in concrete. 78% fewer construction workers on site. The project was built in 23 months, ~3.5 months faster than with concrete.

Excellent Concrete Works with really good olde School Formwork
Why are sidewalks made with concrete and not asphalt? Concrete is a popular choice for sidewalks because it's more durable and requires less maintenance than asphalt. Concrete sidewalks can last 40–50 years, while asphalt sidewalks typically only last up to 20 years. Concrete is also less sensitive to the elements, making it a good choice for sidewalks that are constantly exposed to rain and shine. #concreteconstruction #concretework #concretelife #construction #constructionlife #constructionworker #workharder #sidewalk #concretepour
