We love highlighting new project photos on a Monday. We’re excited to share the latest progress photos from a project we’re honored to be a part of -- the St. Jude’s project site in Memphis, Tennessee. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is dedicated to advancing cures and prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through groundbreaking research and treatment. Their mission ensures that no child is denied care based on race, religion, or a family’s ability to pay. A big thanks to Ellis Steel Co, Inc. for sharing these neat progress photos with us. It's been amazing working with your team on this project that means so much more than just construction. #TheCityRebar #RebarDetailing #RebarEstimating #Rebar

At Pensacola Habitat, we know that safe, decent housing is the key to better health, education, financial opportunity and much more. The historical practice of redlining, which has been used to keep neighborhoods of color from attaining the same wealth and economic opportunities as White neighborhoods, goes against what we stand for. Consider how you can help us and other community organizations invest in building these underserved communities up and establishing fair and equitable opportunities for all. Parkinson’s patients continue to grow in number. Visibility to this disease is seen in all aspects of our lives. Today Parkinson’s can be very normal work conversation when it wasn’t before. Celebrity death talk at the water cooler frequently includes the word Parkinson’s. Think about your work for a minute. Does your organization have a focus on disability awareness and advocacy? Really ? Does it? Do you have a Parkinson’s Hero in your organization? Many of us are always looking for things to get behind. Why not get behind your team. Does it make sense to give a Hero walk a go. Participation in these Hero walks just might be a way to communicate and strengthen your support both internally and in your communities. We are participating in the Grand Rapids Hero walk. Need a team to join. We are listed in the choices. We would love for all to join us in person or in spirit. It is a fun day. Give it some thought and hope to see you there.

The article of our qualitative findings from interviewing 74 residents around the impact of blighted and neglected properties in New Orleans has been published! Congratulations Gabriella R. It has been a pleasure collaborating with you and our partners at the Institute Of Women & Ethnic Studies and Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine! “Thematic content analysis through inductive and deductive coding cycles of interview transcripts revealed five main categories related to urban neighborhood-built and social environments: 1) health and well-being, 2) sense of community, 3) sense of safety, 4) civic engagement, and 5) youth and family violence. Ten themes were developed and included, for example, the role of neighborhoods in delineating access to health-promoting characteristics and resources; the role of neighborhood social networks as crime prevention strategies; resident-led decision-making in neighborhood improvements; the negative impact of neglected properties; and the role of the local government in improving physical infrastructure.”

🌳 Growing Together: The Flourishing Partnership Between Greener Growth and Seeding Hope 🌳 At Greener Growth, our commitment to nurturing nature and fostering sustainable communities has always been at the heart of what we do. It's with great pride that we spotlight our partnership with Seeding Hope, a like-minded initiative that amplifies our impact and embodies our shared values. Together, we are embarking on an inspiring journey, combining our strengths to create meaningful change within His Majesty’s Prisons across the UK. This collaboration has given rise to impactful tree-growing projects that offer more than just environmental benefits. Through therapeutic support and the provision of horticultural qualifications, we are planting seeds of hope and opportunity for prison residents, equipping them with valuable skills for their reintegration into society. This partnership is built on the mutual belief that reconnecting individuals with nature can profoundly transform lives, especially those in vulnerable states. By intertwining the rehabilitation of individuals with the restoration of our ecosystems, we are not only fostering personal growth but also contributing to the urgent task of reforestation and conservation of our precious woodlands. Our work with Seeding Hope is a testament to the power of collaboration in addressing both social and environmental challenges. Each tree planted represents a step forward in our joint mission to heal the earth and enrich human lives. We are excited about the future of this partnership and the lasting impact it will have on both people and the planet. Join us as we continue to grow forests and futures together. https://lnkd.in/eXuUbpGS https://lnkd.in/eh6TR_tH #GreenerGrowth #SeedingHope #Sustainability #Reforestation #PartnershipForChange #SocialImpact #EnvironmentalConservation

🐀 Chicago Named 'Rattiest City' in America... Again! 🐀 Despite major efforts from city governments, many of the largest urban areas, like Chicago, are still struggling to control their rat populations. Traditional methods just aren’t cutting it, as highlighted in this recent CBS article: https://lnkd.in/ekK42DC8 Enter Evolve – The Game Changer. At SenesTech, we've developed Evolve, a breakthrough rodent birth control solution that disrupts the reproductive cycle of both male and female rats. Unlike conventional poisons or traps, Evolve targets the source of the problem by preventing rats from multiplying. It's effective, humane, and perfect for urban environments struggling to keep up with rising rat populations. The solution is simple: control reproduction, control the rat population. Let's evolve our approach to rodent control and help cities reclaim their streets! For more details on how Evolve is changing the game, visit us at www.senestech.com #RodentControl #UrbanSolutions #Evolve #ReproductiveControl #CityHealth #PestControl

When Will was born with a rare genetic disorder, his family's long journey began. He lives with multiple disabilities. His family sought help from the public school system, but they found they needed additional support as Will approached adulthood. Filled with uncertainty about Will’s future, the Park Family turned to Bobby Dodd Institute. BDI’s Benefits Navigation team guided Will’s family through the process of applying for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) when Will turned 18. Together, the Benefits Navigation team and the Parks developed a futures plan for Will and secured approval for a Medicaid waiver—a major win, after being on a waiting list for 10 years. Through working with individuals like Will, BDI has developed a unique process that we are now sharing in the following paragraphs. In this blog post, you will find essential guidance to help you understand the Georgia Medicaid waivers, learn about the likelihood of receiving benefits, explore the application process, and gain an understanding of the ways to identify the most suitable services for your specific needs.
