This year, there are over 600 events being hosted across five boroughs of New York City during #ClimateWeekNYC. So, as an event host, how can you make the most of your event and ensure it stands out? ⭕ Start by asking yourself; What are you trying to accomplish from your event? What key climate takeaways would you like your audience to leave the room with? Craft an agenda that is niche and focused on one topic as opposed to keeping it more general. ⭕ Diversify your event by inviting speakers, panelists and participants from different cultural backgrounds, sectors or industries. ⭕ Incorporate an interactive element to your event, such as a Q&A, a live demonstration, or workshop session. This will give your attendees a more memorable and impactful Climate Week NYC experience! Submit your event to be included in our official program calendar and make the most of the audience and network at Climate Week NYC! Deadline to submit is September 8. If you're overwhelmed #ClimateWeekNYC, you're not alone. With 1,000 or more official and unofficial events, it’s confusing and confounding, exhausting and exhilarating. But we keep going back. CEO/Founder at Cambium | Yale Forestry | Forbes 30 under 30 | TEDx Speaker | Fast Co Most Innovative 2024
NYC Climate Week was awesome, but we need to do better as a movement. Here is what I mean: We spend way too much time: Sitting in panels. Celebrating wins without leveraging them to create new ones. Listening to long-winded answers. Networking only with the person next to you. Too much of our time is spent ineffectively. The best events I attended were not about sitting passively through hours of content they were interactive and intentional (shout out to Superorganism + The Climate Pledge for crushing this). Every event should be optimizing for: 💡More ideas per sentence (Ideas/sentence) 🤝More connections per event (connections/event) As speakers and facilitators our job is to maximizing value for the audience—delivering concise ideas and meeting as many like-minded people as possible. Because that is what matters—learning something new and growing our collective network. We owe it to the climate movement to be as efficient with our words and time as we are with our resources. Let's have a higher bar for the fundamentals of our movement. What were the best events you attended at #climateweek and why?

#ClimateWeek is an inspiring time to feel the (renewable) energy around sustainability initiatives that are actively shaping the new business paradigm. It can seem overwhelming, but the beauty of the sprawling event calendar is that even if you're role is not explicitly climate related, you are new to the space, or you're just curious, there is truly something for everyone! In the wise words of Joel Makower, just show up! Listen, learn, connect, and reflect. What are the can't-miss events we can find you at?

🔔 Kicking off Climate Week NYC 🌍 Our team is on the ground in New York, participating in key events to advance the mission of scaling carbon removal. This year’s theme, “It’s Time,” couldn’t be more fitting. It’s time to act decisively on climate. It’s time for carbon removal. Climate Week NYC offers a unique opportunity to connect with pioneers and thought leaders across the climate sector. We’re excited to attend key events, including the Puro.earth CDR Summit and the premiere of Legion 44, the world’s first feature documentary spotlighting carbon removal. 🎬 A big thank you to our team on the ground—Aaron Randall, George Jones, and Darshan Chohan —who will be sharing their learnings and insights this week. 💬 If you’re attending Climate Week, we’d love to connect. Let’s work together to make carbon removal the priority it needs to be. #NYClimateWeek #CarbonRemoval #PuroEarth #Legion44 #ClimateAction #CarbonRemovalNow

Heading to my first Climate Week NYC next month and could use some advice! As a consultant, I'm looking to make the most of this important event and potentially pitch my services to support any events happening that week. My goal is to attend events that will help me build connections with value-aligned leaders and explore ways to center frontline communities in these conversations. I'd love to hear from anyone who has experience with Climate Week NYC—what were the must-attend events or sessions? Are there any tips for networking and making the most of the week? If you're involved in organizing any events during that time, I'd be very interested in discussing how I could help, potentially by interviewing speakers, moderating panels, or creating content for your social media. I'd love to find opportunities to bridge my passion for working on climate issues and my love of books. I create bookish content on TikTok (@triflesandvanities), and if any publishers are working on cli-fi events, I'd love to connect! Any insights would be greatly appreciated as I prepare for this exciting week in New York! Looking forward to learning from the Climate Week NYC community. #climateweeknyc #environmentaljustice #climatechange #climatefiction #storytelling
