We know that in today’s changing and uncertain healthcare environment, many healthcare professionals struggle to serve the more than 31 million Americans relying on public health centers to get essential care, because they can’t reliably access the cost-effective products they need. Rising healthcare costs and the 2022 SCOTUS decision to overturn Roe v. Wade underscore the urgency of collective action. “We” – across public, private, government and other sections – must work together towards increased access to preventative reproductive healthcare. Investor: Maternal-Neonatal-Pediatric Heatlhcare Solutions | Peds ICU doctor | Neuroscientist I CDL investigator
My prediction, based on current trends, includes further increase in infant and maternal mortality rates, a further widening of the economic gap between men and women, higher healthcare costs, the shutdown of labor and delivery units, and a shortage of doctors willing to work in these states due to the risks to their own families, leading to overall worse outcomes for the whole country health-wise as well as economy (already suboptimal vs other developed countries). https://lnkd.in/ge9M3vxb

https://lnkd.in/e-SD48M5. Women's healthcare is not the same in every state in the U.S. This latest study shows, again, why there needs to be a focus on women's health and women's health research. No matter your political viewpoint, I don't think we want our moms, our sisters, our friends, our colleagues at major risk because of lack of health resources or knowledge. We can and must be positive disruptors so that all women get equitable healthcare at every age: 18 to 90+. #gw4wvoice #womenshealth #healthcareequity

Women's health in America is inherently political. Election years just rachet up the stakes. Cutting through the political rhetoric with hard facts, The Commonwealth Fund just published a state of the union on where things currently are -- it's not good. Expanding access to care remains the top issue to solve -- and I hope it can be a bipartisan one. ______ "The health of women in the United States is in a perilous place. Deaths from preventable causes are on the rise and deep inequities persist, leading to stark racial differences in maternal mortality and deaths from breast and cervical cancers. Despite a small rebound in women’s life expectancy in 2022, it remains at its lowest since 2006." #election2024 #womenshealth #maternalhealth #whitehouse
