As this horrendous case makes its way through the courts we must look for learning opportunities so this can't happen again. The topic of grooming is so important. Anyone working with children or responsible for staff/volunteers working with children must ensure: -they understand what grooming looks like -they understand it's not just children who get groomed, the adults around them can also be groomed -they have policies in place that reduce the likelihood of grooming (codes of conduct, complaint handling policies, recruitment policies) -children, families and community have clear pathways to raise concerns Perpetrators want to get away with their behaviour so they use grooming to reduce the likelihood a child will speak up and reduce the likelihood that an adult will respond appropriately or believe a child if they do speak up! 💧 Learn more about compliance strategies with our webinar, "Back to Compliance: Where Innovation Meets Regulation". Gain insights from Jonathan, 120Water Director of Water Quality Compliance, on navigating sampling at elementary schools and childcare facilities. Here's what he has to say: "You send them some information and say they're eligible to have the sampling, but if they don't reach back out to you and say we want it, you don't have to document a refusal or non-response for secondary school because it's only if they reach back out to you, then you have to do the sampling." ▫️ Watch the replays here: https://bit.ly/3Xa9oW3 #digitalwater #waterquality #LCRR #LCRI #waterpolicy #drinkingwater #GetTheLeadOut

In the #EYFS and reflecting on your safeguarding and child protection systems and processes? Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2024 is now available, and it's crucial that we all refer to it in PVI early years education. The EYFS states: "All schools are required to have regard to the government's statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education', and other childcare providers may also find it helpful to read this guidance." As an EYFS provider, whilst not mandatory, reading KCSIE is highly recommended. You will find it more than helpful in guiding your policies, procedures and processes for keeping all children safe. It's an invaluable resource for safeguarding practice. I've used KCSIE to create a comprehensive Safer Recruitment DRAFT Policy Guidance, just one item in my Recruitment Bundle. Stay informed, stay compliant! Take some time to read and review KCSIE 2024 and consider how it can develop your safeguarding practices. #EYFS #Safeguarding #KCSIE2024 #EarlyYearsEducation #ChildProtection Do you agree?
