What other organization outside of the DoD has a supporting non-profit that offers next-to-no questions asked interest-free loans and grants? Active Duty friends and colleagues, consider this: Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is almost entirely volunteer-run, with 90% of donations going directly to Sailors, Marines, and their families. It gave out 50 million just last year alone. Unfortunately though, annual donations continue to decline. Last year's fund drive only received $750,000 from Hampton Roads Area commands. We can turn this around though! With as little as $5 per month, per service member, NMCRS could collect well over 18 million during this year's campaign. Please consider donating this year via your command's representative. Your contribution could rescue a fellow Sailor or Marine in dire straits! #nmcrs #adfd #usnavy #nonprofit
Sailors, Marines, and their families count on Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society when life throws unexpected curveballs! From interest-free loans to educational support, disaster relief to Budget for Baby classes, they've got it all covered. Dive into how you can support our Navy and Marine Corps Family at www.nmcrs.org! #SupportOurTroops #MilitaryFamilies #CommunitySupport

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced they will begin water releases from Lake Okeechobee into the St. Lucie and Caloosahatchee estuaries and Lake Worth Lagoon due to high lake levels. With more than 4 billion gallons of polluted freshwater being dumped to the east and west coasts daily, drastic changes to the color and health of Florida's waterways will soon become noticeable, impacting the salinity balance, seagrass beds, and oyster habitats. This is why we need the EAA Reservoir and its Stormwater Treatment Area to store, clean, and send Lake Okeechobee's water south. We will continue to monitor the situation in the upcoming weeks and the impacts on our coastal estuaries. https://lnkd.in/eVGJrmj4

Thinking of adding some sandy charm to your lakeshore property? It's a great idea, but there's a catch! Sand permitting can be a bit tricky, especially when it comes to inland lakes vs. the mighty Great Lakes. Let's break it down: Inland lake or river? Seek a permit from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). But if your dream beach is along Lake Michigan or its scenic bays like Sutton's Bay or Northport Bay, you have to obtain the permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers! And don't forget, if you're in the unique situation of an inland lake connecting to a Great Lake, you might need both the Army Corps of Engineers and the DNR/DEQ involved. Follow me for more real estate insights. #LakefrontProperty #MichiganRealEstate #SandPermits
