I’m writing the final four chapters of this book. I had a conversation with one of my daughters and read her a chapter. She broke out in tears. She said, “dad, I had no idea you could write such powerful words.” I didn’t think it would move her to tears. Sometimes you just have to test out your audience to see if you are on to something. This book is satire, an auto ethnographic commentary on what leaders claim to believe, and what they actually do. Including myself. The Irony of Ethical Leadership will, make you laugh, cry, and angry. Most of all, it will make you think about strategic thinking and the ethical journey of leadership. It's been a while since I posted, and frankly, it's Friday, and it's time to give an update. I started my foundational courses for my Doctorate in Strategic Leadership in January. This week, I laid out my applied research question, which centers on The Culture Strategy. I also chose my design methodology and framework. I am excited because I met with two professors about the project. My research and design professor was thrilled about my research topic. He stated that this is a valuable subject rarely addressed and much needed across all organizations. As I approach the upcoming applied research project, I am reminded that organizational culture is central to life. It affects family, friendships, work life, community, and society. My favorite part of the process is the ideation that results from the learner, input, and strategic thinking strengths. This process is natural to me, and I love it! This research project led me to create a leadership talents matrix, which I will use to gather qualitative research data for analysis. I look forward to writing this book over the next year.
