Chanel plans to announce a new creative organization soon as it thanks Viard for her remarkable contribution to the brand's success and creativity. Deckers Brands Deckers Brands CEO Dave Powers is set to retire soon after steering significant growth at two major brands, Hoka and Ugg. Powers will share his leadership insights at the FN Summit 2024, where industry leaders will discuss important retail and AI innovations. Victoria's Secret Victoria's Secret reported a net loss of $4 million for the first quarter of 2024, contrasting last year's $1 million profit. Despite challenging retail conditions and declining sales, the company plans continued efforts to rejuvenate its business, including bringing back its runway show this fall. Lululemon Lululemon Athletica showed improvement by beating first-quarter estimates, with a 10.4 percent revenue increase to $2.2 billion. However, the brand is still addressing missteps in its U.S. women’s business while raising its annual earnings forecast, reflecting positive investor sentiment. HanesBrands HanesBrands is selling its Champion brand to Authentic Brands Group for $1.2 billion, with an additional potential $300 million based on performance. This move will help HanesBrands pay down debt and streamline its business, while Authentic Brands Group aims to expand Champion's presence globally. Scarosso Italian footwear brand Scarosso has collaborated with New Yorker Linda Rodin to design a capsule collection of ballerina and Mary Jane flats. This marks a significant U.S. expansion for Scarosso, alongside a private event at New York's Hotel Chelsea to celebrate the launch. Denim is iconic… You can’t go wrong with it – trendy denim comes and goes, denim has up and down cycles, but at the heart of it – Denim is Americana! Levi Strauss & Co. is coming off of a successful Q2 – net income hit $18M, compared to Q2 LY at a loss of $2M. Inventory is down, margin is up, and both DTC and wholesale saw healthy growth. Recipe for further success! Its 501 style is a front runner - +16% in DTC. My sad Millennial heart still holds on tight to my skinny jeans but seems like the rest of the world has moved on – “loose fits” are up +21%! Levi’s says they are seeing growth in non-denim apparel. 70 new stores will open in the back half of the year bringing the total store count to 2,600 globally. #purchasingpower Levi's has built trust with the consumer in their bottoms' business. I would love to see the non-denim assortment expand to help drive UPTs and the potential for customers to come back more frequently. They can continue to use their core denim as the anchor while making storefronts and their homepage look fresh with a new assortment of tops; a different POV – compelling visual experiences.
