An interesting article in The Economist but it's not the only one. Of late I have come across several articles on the likelihood of gradually improving economic cooperation between #India and #China. The recent comment from #India's Chief Economic Advisor pointing out the economic benefits to the country from Chinese FDI ( https://lnkd.in/gzMygYJb) is a case in point. There's significant strategic complementarity here. India has humongous job creation needs and a compulsion for robust improvement in manufacturing capabilities. India also needs the technologies in which a large share of the intellectual property (IP) are owned by Chinese firms. On the other hand, Chinese companies need to diversify from the home market, given the domestic overcapacity situation. Sound economic logic may soon become the operative word. #India #China #Trade #Investment #FDI https://lnkd.in/g8-dHR_v

Justin Trudeau's Resignation: Implications for India-Canada Relations Political Tensions: Trudeau’s support for Khalistani elements strained diplomatic ties, creating mistrust and limiting cooperation. Trade Concerns: The $8 billion bilateral trade remains underwhelming. Political instability may delay critical agreements like CEPA. Geopolitical Dynamics: Canada’s leadership transition could affect India’s Indo-Pacific strategies and multilateral collaborations like G20. Diaspora Challenges: Policies under Trudeau raised safety concerns for the 1.4 million-strong Indian-origin community. Economic Opportunities: A pro-business Conservative leadership could open avenues for Indian businesses in Canada’s energy and technology sectors. Immigration Reforms: Leadership change may address gaps in immigration policies impacting Indian students and professionals. Stronger Collaboration: A new Canadian leadership may present a chance for resetting ties and advancing shared goals. Conclusion India must strategically engage with Canada’s new leadership to re-calibrate strained ties, enhance trade, and strengthen geopolitical partnerships. Let’s transform this moment of change into a strategic advantage for both nations. *What are your thoughts on how India should approach this transition in Canadian leadership? By balancing strong relations with both the West and Russia, India has demonstrated remarkable diplomatic agility.India has deepened its strategic ties with the West, particularly with the U.S., Europe, and through initiatives like the Quad.
