In a time of so much unrest and uncertainty where many of us are feeling immense grief for the world - whether we consciously realize it or not - this podcast, featuring the wisdom on Joanna Macy and Jess Serante, provided so much nourishment to me. Especially if you are in the social/environmental justice movement, I highly recommend giving it a listen. Only through reconnection can we transform ourselves and our society in the face of this socio-ecological crisis. https://lnkd.in/e3zsiZPq

In this episode of the Reconstructing Inclusion #Podcast, Amri B. Johnson raises a critical point about potential iatrogenic harms arising from #DEI efforts. He emphasizes the need to honestly acknowledge and deeply examine aspects like #Microaggressions, exclusivity, and whether our approaches in the anti-racist and #SocialJustice spaces may unintentionally reinforce a perpetual "victim" mentality across time. ❓ Are we open to re-evaluating our DEI strategies through a nuanced lens? ❓ Are we inadvertently perpetuating narratives that diminish lived victories? Without frank self-reflection on potential counterproductive impacts, it will be difficult to genuinely advance this crucial work effectively. 🎙️ Make sure to listen to the entire episode on the platform of your choice. #ReconstructingInclusion #DiversityAndInclusion #DEIPodcast #Diversity #Inclusion #Equity

We started a podcast. This one is about Andie Curno It's about the Breadheads that are part of our Queerssant community. It's also for the Breadheads that aren't part of that community. It's for our Breadheads that are transitioning and that have transitioned. It's for our Breadheads that have been mis-gendered, discriminated and marginalised. It's for Breadheads that have and haven't quite figured out who their authentic self is just yet (that's ok, you'll get there). It's an education, a celebration, a conversation between two human beings. Our Breaking Bread podcast series are created to share human stories and human life experiences. That's our focus, that's where we believe we will create movement. Here's a snippet, but feel free to watch the entire thing (it's timestamped if you only want to watch certain parts). You can say you respect everyone. You can say, 'I don't mind, do what you want', you can plead cultural or societal ignorance, you can say, I'm just here to work and go home. But whatever your lived experience, you understand and recognise kindness. Don't just tolerate me, show me you care. https://lnkd.in/eEVfPrKv

📯 Podcast Interview 📍 The episode is here: https://lnkd.in/dJnMj4by I have previously declined podcast interviews for various reasons including not feeling connected to those particular spaces due to relevance or distance, having little familiarity with the podcast hosts, etc. However, this all changed the minute I met Archita Fritz! Her lived experiences, energy and prowess on diversity, equity and inclusion topics convinced me that my time speaking about my work with her specifically would benefit many people/organisations. Have you ever wondered how my anti-oppression activism story started? Did you know I lived back in my city of birth, Nairobi, for over a year in 2014 where I was involved in gender and child-based violence protests? Are you curious of how I have developed and transformed my anti-racism and social impact courses and now delivering workshops around these topics? Would you like to know the reactions I get after delivering these sessions? Are you stuck on where to start with your own diversity, equity and inclusion training? Find this and more on this Embracing "Only" Podcast episode! Thank you so much, Archita Fritz! 💐 I listened to the episode and noticed that when I said 2023 and 2024, I meant 2022 and 2023 respectively. I was a year ahead in my head. Please ignore this. #AntiRacism #SocialImpact #GlobalDiversityEquityInclusion

By raising awareness, we can help society eradicate stereotypes and misconceptions, ensuring that people with albinism are seen, heard, and respected.
