I’m a Conceptual Architectural Designer & Founder of Pleiadian Architects, specializing in the early-stage design of luxury, energy-efficient villas, resorts, and cabins inspired by Feng Shui principles & Sacred Geometry
Nowadays the requests from clients to incorporate continuous floor-to-ceiling glass panels along the villa's façade, are more and more frequent. Here's my takeaway about it from the aspect of Feng-Shui. Feng-Shui approves large glass panels, because of their connection with the Yang energy, which is the incoming sunlight. The Yang energy is associated with vitality and is much needed in the communal spaces, so it's a great practice to add glass panels in spaces like the living room, dining area and the office room. As you see in the photo attached, which is my recent design "Cabin Alcyone", I've placed continuous glass panels along the living room and dining area, allowing the sunlight and the breeze from the sea to flow seamlessly into the house. Yet, designing such cabin, requires considering some key factors, and let me share them with you... While the transparent glass panels allow an uninterrupted flow of the energy, they can also allow easy flow of the energy outwards, that in Feng-Shui signifies financial loss. That's why placing overhangs, curtains and blinds, is a good practice to control the flow of chi and provide a sense of protection when needed. Incorporating also landscape features like trees, plants or shrubs in front of the glass panels can soften the energy flow and prevent it from escaping too quickly, causing potential financial loss. So, remember that the glass panels are associated with the Yang energy of vitality and is a good practice to add them in spaces like the living room and dining area, but always consider ways of providing a more softened energy flow. Thanks for reading and you're always welcomed to share your opinion in the comments. Having a nice open concept for your kitchen space offers many advantages that can significantly enhance the functionality and ambiance of your home. Firstly, it fosters increased social interaction by removing barriers between the kitchen and living or dining areas, allowing cooking to engage with family members or guests seamlessly. This layout also improves entertaining capabilities, as hosts can easily converse with guests while preparing meals, creating a more inclusive atmosphere. Additionally, open-concept designs optimize traffic flow throughout the home, making it easier for individuals to move between spaces. They also make smaller homes feel more spacious and allow for better utilization of natural light, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal. Furthermore, the flexibility in design enables homeowners to create cohesive and inviting spaces that increase property value and attract potential buyers. Ultimately, open-concept kitchens promote family connectivity, accessibility, and safety, making them popular for modern homes. . . . #blackstoneconstruction #blackstone #birminghamal #birmingham #alabama #commericalconstruction #commerical #construction #residentialconstruction #residential #architecture #blackstonebuilt #constructionindustry #buildingdesign #contractors #constructionwork #propertydevelopment #constructionsite #renovation #constructionlife #buildingsolutions #constructionmanagement

📦 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙄𝙉𝙎𝙄𝘿𝙀 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙭. 𝙎𝙖𝙮 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩??? We often hear the motivational phrase, “Think outside the box,” but sometimes in order to do that, we have to assess what’s inside. 🏡 Your home is a fluid space. I know that seems counterintuitive. Here’s the thing: » Walls can move. » Layouts of even just furniture can change. » Labels of what one room “is” can be overwritten. In other words, a living room can be a dining room. A dining room can be a office. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝘀. That’s right. Start thinking about your home space as just a 3 dimensional canvas. It can be anything you make it. 💫 🛑 We often limit ourselves by walls we see, and particularly in our homes when we are so used to things being a certain “way,” it’s hard to break free from what has been. We just accept it. Don’t. For now, though, just start to think of what’s inside the “box,” the “4 walls” or whatever you want to call it, as not there. 🫙 ➡️ You CAN break free. You CAN redefine. ✔️✔️✔️Start thinking outside the box by thinking *inside* the box and see it in a new way - as a volume of space where you can create it to best match you and support your daily actions, thoughts, mood and productivity. 🌌 Close your eyes and feel the whole of the empty space. That’s when you can start to let in the possibilities. 💭💡 👇👇👇What space would you most like to redefine? #reimagine #interiordesign #thinkbigger #architecture #homedesign
