🔍 Call of Duty's Skill-Based Matchmaking Experiment 🎮Activision's latest research dives into the heated debate around skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. ❓What is SBMM?: SBMM matches you with players of similar skill based on your past performance. Looser parameters mean a wider skill range, and vice versa. Here's what they found: ✌️Two Major Studies were conducted anonymously across North America, these studies explored the impact of tweaking SBMM parameters on player behavior. ❗Wider skill gaps led to more lopsided match scores, with 80% of players quitting mid-match and 90% not returning in the following days. The player pool shrank significantly over time. 💭The Big Takeaway Balancing player skill levels is crucial for the games player base and longevity.
