April is Alcohol Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness and reduce stigma around alcohol use & misuse. Did you know that each year, there are more than 178,000 alcohol-related deaths in our country? This makes alcohol a leading cause of preventable deaths in the United States. At The Dimock Center, we know that with the right supports, recovery from alcohol use disorder IS possible. We offer a full spectrum of treatment services right here on our Roxbury campus, including an Acute Treatment Services (ATS) program or a medically monitored detox unit for alcohol and opioid use disorders. If you or a friend or family member is struggling with alcohol use and are ready to start your road to recovery, visit dimock.org/detox or call 617-442-8800 ext. 1315. #AlcoholAwarenessMonth #BostonMA #RecoveryIsPossible

Have you heard about the American Lung Association's program, INDEPTH (Intervention for Nicotine Dependence: Education, Prevention, Tobacco, and Health)? We at the American Lung Association in New Mexico are trying to increase awareness around this free program. INDEPTH is a new, convenient alternative to suspension or citation that helps schools and communities address the teen vaping problem in a more supportive way. Instead of solely focusing on punitive measures, INDEPTH is an interactive program that teaches students about nicotine dependence, establishing healthy alternatives, and how to kick the unhealthy addiction that got them in trouble in the first place. If you are interested and would like more information, please contact me. #INDEPTH #NewMexico
