It has been a while since my last post, as I’ve been recovering from a severe case of COVID-19 contracted in January 2022. The journey back to full health has been challenging, but I’m happy to share that the long-term effects have nearly subsided. Over the past two years, I’ve worked with incredible specialists, including a Cardiologist, Respiratory Consultant, ENT Consultant, and soon, a Vestibular Rebalancing Professor. With their help, I’m hopeful to regain my aviation medical clearance and return to safely flying you and your loved ones around the world. In the meantime, the drones are serviced, insured, and ready to take to the skies. Our cameramen are prepped and equipped to deliver stunning cinematic aerial footage tailored to your vision. Whether it’s on-set, behind the scenes, or for professional aerial filming and photography, we are committed to safety, artistry, and capturing your story from above. Thank you for your support—excited for what’s ahead! #drone #drones #bbcstudios #itvstudios #tvproducers #filmproducers

How’s the wind for you today?? One of the most rewarding parts of working on TV and film productions is being able to help bring ambitious creative visions to life. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to work on projects like Clarkson’s Farm, I’m A Celebrity, Traitors, and commercials for brands like Manchester United and Arsenal. Each production brings its own challenges, but that’s what makes the work so exciting. For producers, the question is often: how do you get those shots that feel impossible? Whether it’s dynamic aerials, precise tracking, or seamless in-car footage, the key is having a team that understands not just the technical side but the rhythm of a production. One thing I’ve learned in over 10 years of flying drones is that it’s never just about the equipment—it’s about being part of the crew, anticipating what’s needed before it’s said, and making sure every shot fits seamlessly into the bigger picture. What’s been your biggest challenge on a production? I’d love to hear how others have solved creative problems on set. 📩 Contact Details: 📧 chris@eastwood-drones.co.uk 🌐 www.eastwood-drones.co.uk #TVProduction #FilmCrew #DroneCinematography #AerialFilming

What My Parents Think I Do as a Drone Pilot: They imagine me sitting in a dark room, wearing a superhero cape, holding a joystick like it’s a video game controller from 1995, and yelling things like "Engage thrusters!" or "Target locked!" They still think I’m flying a real aircraft from the backyard. What My Boss Thinks I Do: “Make sure the drone isn’t crashing into trees,” “Collect footage with military precision,” and “Get perfect shots for 10 hours straight without blinking." Basically, they think I’m an all-seeing, all-knowing eye in the sky, filming with robotic efficiency, while also answering emails. What Society Thinks I Do: They assume I’m some secret government agent spying on everyone’s backyard barbecues, keeping tabs on rogue squirrels, or worse, filming their awkward karaoke nights. I’m essentially Big Brother, but with better HD quality. What I Actually Do: I spend half my time dodging birds, waiting for the drone to connect to Wi-Fi, and wondering why the battery drains faster than my phone on a road trip. Occasionally, I wave at curious kids who think I’m playing with a toy. The rest of the time, I’m wondering if I should have just become a delivery driver—at least they don’t get chased by seagulls. #drone #dronevideo #dronephotography #dronelife

Nothing ever goes as planned. But isn’t that where growth begins? Ever faced a moment when nothing went right? That’s what aerial videography is for me. One time, the weather turned bad mid-shoot. I had to choose: risk my drone or stop filming. What would you have done? The challenges are tough but exciting. I’ve waited hours to capture whales near Rottnest Island. That patience paid off; it was breathtaking. Challenges make me better. They’ve taught me to adapt and stay creative. What challenges are shaping your journey? #creatives #videographers #storytelling #resilience #aerialphotography #drones

🟩 Can you fly a drone through this narrow long pipe on the dockside?...🚢 ...Yep, sounds like the job for an FPV drone.💨 Last year our team at RCM undertook a number of commissions which involved the immersive method of capturing footage and gets you close to the action. From fast paced action and chasing speeding subjects to intricate movements through complex and narrow indoor and outdoor locations. The process involves a good scout and walkthrough of the location to see the route of the Fpv and then also plan out any choreography with timings that go with it, such as people, vehicles, actions working in tandem with the sequence, followed by a signal check. Our Fpv pilot then flys the customised small drone which is extremely lightweight and include protected props to protect itself and the surroundings, using a headset with goggles to guide it through the route skilfully whilst director and clients can look on via monitor. In post production we bring it to life with sfx/audio effects as well as motion graphics if required. Alongside our fab pilot Steven here's just a few of the sequences we captured last year... ✔️A virtual tour around the new Winchester College sports facility ✔️Through a huge narrow pipe and Southampton dockside for Knights Brown ✔️Keeping pace with a speeding car on a UK beach ✔️Exploring a stunning ancient welsh castle If you've got an interesting campaign or location to tie in some Fpv action, drop me a line. #fpvdrone #drone #aerialfilming #rcmagency

🚁 How FPV Drones Work 🚁 FPV (First Person View) drones revolutionize the piloting experience by providing a bird's eye view in real time. Equipped with cameras transmitting live feeds to goggles or screens, pilots immerse themselves in the drone's perspective, enabling precise maneuvers and access to unique locations. Key components include: - FPV camera: captures real-time video - Transmitter & Receiver: send video signals to the pilot’s FPV goggles - Flight Controller: maintains stability and executes pilot commands Ideal for racing, cinematography, and exploring new horizons, FPV drones offer a seamless blend of technology and excitement. 🌍📡 #FPVDrones #DroneTech #Cinematography #DroneRacing #TechInnovation
