Water is on everyone's mind these days. A number of years ago I became aware that in the Harquahala INA in Western Arizona that there was a tremendous amount of water under that ground. The studies have shown that there is THREE LAKE MEAD'S WORTH OF WATER under that ground. Enough water to take care of a lot of water needs in Central Arizona for at least 400 years. When the Ground water act of 1980 was written into law the Harquahala valley was set aside for water transfers to other AMA's. Just think about how much water is under that land. Since the CAP runs through the northern end of the Harquahala Valley this water could be transported to all kinds of places. If this water is used it will take a lot of pressure off the cities, and the farms in central Arizona. If we can drill to 3000 feet we can have access to this abundant source of water. Now in the mean time all kinds of technology can be developed over the next several 100 years to help solve the over all water challenge that Arizona is facing. This source of water will go a long way to solving the many water challenges that we face and buying us time for science to catch up with the ever growing demand for ground water in Arizona.. I bet many of you have never heard about this source of water...time to ask your legislators and the CAP why they continue to hide this information from the public....
