Holistic Approach to Sustainability: Beyond employment law, the UKRI-funded program “TransFIRe” focuses on transformative change in foundation industries, including ceramics. It's objectives include minimizing resource use, reducing carbon emissions, and supporting equal opportunities. In a widely forecast outcome, Labour secured a historic victory, securing approximately 412 seats in the House of Commons and a supermajority of 176–178 seats. However, this is despite Labour only garnering 34% of the overall vote share. With a powerful mandate, Labour will set about trying to implement an ambitious domestic agenda whilst balancing against the tight fiscal context left over by the incumbent Tory government. There is no expectation for a radical change in the UK’s relationship with the European Union under Labour, although it is expected that a Starmer government will seek a less contentious relationship with Brussels.

With an election days away, Maritime UK urges the new government to get serious about an industry that supports 1.1 million jobs. To get serious about a sector that drives £116Bn into the UK economy. To get serious about an industry that pays its workers 40% more than the UK national average. Let’s get serious about maritime.

There will be a general election in the UK this year, and Labour looks set to return to Number 10 after 13 years in the wilderness. But there are a number of questions pending for markets and politics. - Will Labour actually win? You never know what will happen until the votes are cast - though in this case it looks pretty locked on, with an 89% implied probability from current odds. - Will Labour win outright or have to go into coalition?
