Iran is not our enemy. Iran is not their government. Going to war with a country of 90 million people is a terrible idea. But I am surprised by how many people, particularly in the US, UK, and Israel who aren't aware of their own country's history with Iran. Here are some highlights: - The US and UK overthrew Iran's democracy and installed a dictatorship in 1953. - They did this because Iran decided to nationalize its oil supply and British interests still wanted cheap oil and the US wanted a government it could control. This wasn't the first time nor the last time they would do something like this. - The CIA released documents confirming this in 2013, so it's not a conspiracy theory. - The US then worked with Israel to help the dictatorship form a secret police called SAVAK. This force was meant to keep the dictatorship in power and suppress resistance and democratic movements. - SAVAK kidnapped, imprisoned, tortured, maimed, killed, and committed countless other human rights violations against civilians. - During this time, Israel and Iran were allies. - However, after the 1979 revolution, the full extent of American and Israeli efforts to help torture, oppress, and subdue the Iranian people came to light. As you can imagine, things haven't been the same ever since.

‘No crisis is as dispiriting as the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and going to an antiwar event helped.’ Witnessing the impact of geopolitical conflict from afar raises the question: how do we bridge the divide? In Torino, a protest brought Jews and Arabs together, even if only for a moment. But is it enough? #MiddleEastConflict #LeadershipInCrisis #Geopolitics #Diplomacy https://lnkd.in/eSnWMSjC

While the concept of multiethnicity is admirable, it is not a carte blanche to endorse or propagate political ideologies that run counter to Australia's national interests. Local councils, in their pursuit of inclusivity, seem to have lost sight of the fact that not all symbols are created equal. Aside from the question of whether getting involved in geopolitical issues is actually within a local council's remit, the council debates over raising Palestinian flags raises legitimate concerns for the wider public. Australia has had bilateral diplomatic relations and a longstanding friendship with Israel since 1949. Foremost, this relationship with an allied country should take precedence over symbolic gestures that cater to niche interests. One cannot discuss the display of the Palestinian flag without acknowledging the elephant in the room—the flag's undeniable association with a number of Palestinian terrorist groups and in particular, the recent terrorism enacted by Hamas governance in Gaza. Hamas is an internationally recognized terrorist organisation, with a charter and culture that is antithetical to Australians and liberal democracy. To overlook this fact in the name of multiethnicity is not only naive, it is a dangerous oversight. Local councils must be held accountable for the symbolism they endorse within their precincts. Credit to City of Greater Dandenong for voting down a motion to fly the Palestinian flag indefinitely. In this case, flying the Palestinian flag without a thorough understanding of its implications is a dereliction of duty, especially when it comes to upholding Australia's national interests and maintaining diplomatic relationships. Residents deserve to know that their representatives are acting in the best interests of the nation, not inadvertently aligning with factions known for violence and terrorism. Local councils must exercise discernment and prioritize the national interest over symbolic gestures that may placate a few but alienate many. The display of the Palestinian flag within council premises should not be dismissed as a mere nod to diversity; rather, it should be scrutinized for its potential to strain diplomatic ties, compromise national security considerations, and betray the trust of a valued ally. Local councils must reassess their priorities and recognize the gravity of the symbols they choose to endorse. With the increasing tensions around Australia Day, it would be timely to unite with pride under a common flag and values, in a shared national identity, maintaining cherished traditions with social cohesion. #AustraliaDay Merri-bek City Council Maribyrnong City Council Banyule City Council Dean Hurlston Cr Oscar Yildiz JP Hume City Council Darebin City Council Yarra City Council Wyndham City Council

The world needs fresh ideas and a new type of politics and politicians, representing mankind as a whole and each of us as equals instead of fragmented political interests! We have to grow together in order to urgently address the issues that impact all of us like conflict, climate change, inequality and forced migration together. This we can only do without any dominance, as equals. Collectively in Solidarity. www.convergence.ngo & www.pax.ngo

https://lnkd.in/ghR85uid Who is running Canada? Why did trudeau remove Sikh terrorism from the list of the top 5 terror threats? He invoked The Emergency Act during peaceful protests by Canadians in 2022, Freedom Convoy, our Truckers and supporters who asked the government to meet with them in Ottawa to discuss covid 19 pandemic mandates. What did trudeau, freeland and MSM news do? Tried to ignite Canadians against the Freedom Convoy peaceful protestors, name calling and trying to ostracize them and anyone involved. trudeau's own cabinet asked him to speak with the official leaders of the protest, he refused, went into hiding, invoked the Act and froze bank accounts and funding. freeland smiled like a Cheshire cat when asked about freezing bank accounts by reporters. She couldn't hide her happiness that banks co-operated with her and froze accounts. Absolutely, Cold, Cruel and Small. Now her, trudeau and the Government of Canada are being sued over this. They still think they are right and were acting in the best interests of Canadians. What a slap in the face for all Canadians and the government itself, the law is the law and they are not above it even though they think they are. They have consistently continued their corrupt style of government, destroying our country with the support of equally corrupt coalitions. Our country is being sold out to Stakeholders of the world right in front of our eyes. It is corporate Stakeholder investors trying to build homes and rental properties in Canada, for profit and control of the market. They will set the market price as high as they want and are keeping prices high because of lack of supply and huge demand. trudeau is working for them and using our taxdollars pretending he is building homes faster than anytime in Canadian history. If you believe that we'll what can I say. trudeau himself has stated he wants home prices to remain where they are. Well that means just one thing, remain out of reach and unaffordable for middle-class and the poor. He's all about protecting Canadians; it is obvious which ones he is protecting, the ultra rich who invest in real estate, buying and selling, making profit and being able to write off taxes on their investments and gains. Nothing wrong with making a profit where and if you can, but it is unfair to be in control and monopolize against those who are not as rich. Any monopoly is wrong, how many do our current government support? Too many, in too many different areas and segments in a supposedly free market, ultimately leading to little or no competition whatsoever and keeping prices high and set. Think about what groups lobby our governments and are making themselves richer while we become poorer. Government is not working for the overall benefit of Canadian citizens as they claim they are. 🤔💭🤔 One day closer to our next federal election. 🌞
