How I create time for self-care: (Even the busiest moms out here can do that) My top secret? I don't. You don't need to go get a mani pedi and massage to tell yourself that you had self-care. Sometimes it can be simple things like: - Short meditation - Quick walk (even just around the room) - Enjoying your favourite song Trust me, just doing this can completely improve your mood. If you have some more time, you can: - Go for a longer walk - Take a yoga class - Schedule a good massage PS. What is your favorite self-care activity?

Anything worth fighting for and worth receiving takes hard, dedicated, consistent attention. We will want to quit, but if the desire for our goal is strong, we remain steady through the hard times. A consistent yoga and meditation practice is hard. It is not always blissful. But we stick with it anyway because there is a peace that comes afterwards which is our guiding light. The practices support us even when we feel that our life is crumbling apart. We have no idea where we are going, but we stick to it. Monday's class will be dedicated to Dr. Martin Luther King and his leadership in the social justice movement. May we never forget his teachings to prevent repeating the same mistakes. Have you tried mindfulness and meditation? Clearing your mind from the daily clutter and focusing on the present is deceivingly challenging. You can be in a yoga posture and at the same time be mentally writing a shopping list or prepping for a presentation. Try focusing on one task at a time. Doing the dishes, placing a coffee order, restarting your computer. Be in the moment and see how your day evolves from that point. #workplaceculture #getbacktothriving

We all experience trauma in our lives but our challenges don’t have to define us. The truth is: we aren’t put here to suffer. We can push and strive against our challenges by moving forward with deep self-reflection and learning to make friends with life. One way is through mindful practices, which can tap into a deeper connection with your body: meditation, journal writing, and inclusive, mindful movement and adaptive/accessible yoga. These practices unearthed whole-body self-acceptance, which can lead to a desire to share and teach others how to connect internally and find deeper meaning and purpose in their own lives.
