Decluttering can provide a fresh start in retirement. As you prepare to move into this next phase, it is a good time to consider what is really important to you in terms of your home environment.
🏡 For many getting rid of prior ‘work’ clothes can be a freeing experience in many ways. If you are so inclined, there are organizations that would appreciate some of the items that you will no longer use.
🏡 Cooking at home becomes a more common option for those that used to grab coffee and a muffin on the way to work and perhaps each lunch at a restaurant. Cooking or baking may also be an interest you want to further explore. Is your current kitchen set up to support these changes?
🏡 After years of such a busy lifestyle you may want to create a calmer living space that supports your new ideal. How will you organize and simplify your living space to create a tranquil environment for this new chapter?
🏡 You could even begin some of this today!

We were delighted to cater Tina Maguire's retirement party for Hutcheon Mearns a few weeks ago.
It was a pleasure to provide the catering for such a memorable event. We hope everyone enjoyed the food, and we wish Tina a very happy retirement!

The send-off from my G&S colleagues was really touching for me and my family. No surprise to many, that kind of attention was just a bit uncomfortable for me. Why? Because my tenure and ANY success I realized is simply a credit to the hundreds of hard-working G&S colleagues I had the honor of working with for the past 27 years, the clients that trusted us with their business, and so many others that provided support along the way.
The biggest surprise gift I received over the last month? Reflection… that I hope to share as a simple reminder for business leaders, at any level, in any industry.
Do not underestimate the little things you practice, say or do during interactions with your team… The welcome feeling you give to a new colleague, the outreach on a job well done, the transparency in the way you communicate, your availability to others, the care you take to deliver even the most difficult feedback or result.
As leaders, we fall short from time to time, and don’t always think about these and many other leadership practices on a daily basis. Just know that in the end, they add up to the sum of who you are and the impact you have on an organization. Lead on!
We sent off our outgoing President and CEO Luke Lambert with a bang by holding parties in all our offices! We had such a great time sharing memories, celebrating Luke’s retirement, and honoring his legacy.
Thank you, Luke, for your many contributions to G&S throughout the years and we hope you enjoy your retirement! #WeAreGS ❤️
