Addendum/repost. Some of Spudgies calories fed during the summer were not accurately recorded in our new app/platform. Checked & rechecked now! He is now West Towne Veterinary Center's clinic cat and has taught us sooo much over his past 2.5 years with us. We recently we saw his weight finally go BELOW his ideal weight after 2 years of dietary restriction. We increased his calories by 10% (as is standard protocol) 4 times with no response. We then checked his thyroid (it was normal) and raised him 20% then 3 more times by 10%. FINALLY after 3 months of increasing (almost tripling his daily caloric intake) we realized he had finally after 2.5 years gotten back to normo-metabolic after being hypo for likely much of his life! Starting at 37# and getting safely to 12# he might be one of the most closely documented feline obesity cases ever!
