Day two of our E-Conference for International Educators: Europe and Eurasia is off to an inspiring start! We have already seen over 200 meetings and another inspiring global panel discussion come to a successful conclusion. This morning’s global panel featuring, Phillip Wenturine, MFA (Brewster American Schools), Anna Krzemińska-Kaczyńska (Dwujęzyczne Liceum Ogólnokształące Open Future International High School, IB World School 050654 and WorldLINK Foundation Poland ), Marina Tirado (Universidad Francisco de Vitoria), Jo Fretwell (International Schools Partnership Limited Partnership), and Eleni Armaou (Metropolitan School of Frankfurt), focused on building effective partnerships between schools and universities. Our experts discussed the importance of clear communication, innovative approaches to university visits, and other practical strategies to enhance collaboration between schools and university representatives. The session also explored how schools and universities can build trust with parents, ensuring transparency and accountability in the decision-making process. Discussions highlighted the importance of empowering students while building strong partnerships with families to create a supportive environment for the high school-to-university transition process. These discussions highlighted the shared responsibility among schools, universities, and families in preparing students for their next steps with clarity, confidence, and support. Thank you to all our panelists and participants for contributing to this engaging discussion!

Our crack team of on-the-ground researchers across the globe have come across some truly inspiring schools on their travels, schools who push the envelope with groundbreaking initiatives that go above and beyond for their pupils. Many have fully embraced a 21st-century style of pedagogy that puts children at the centre of their own learning, encouraging life skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, communication and creativity, and removing binary models of success or failure. Alternative academic pathways, outdoor learning, innovative use of tech, pioneering teaching models – these are just some of things that set these schools apart from the rest, allowing their pupils the freedom to discover who they are and what makes them tick. Whether you are contemplating a global move or looking for a new school for your child in an unfamiliar territory, we have carefully curated our lists of the top international schools out there in our global guides – follow the link to discover the global schools that stand out as truly revolutionary: https://lnkd.in/eHaQXEu9

24th January was the International Day of Education which celebrates the role of education for peace and development. I would argue that of all the forms of education, an education steeped in the arts is most likely to foster peace and development... The European Commission 2023 report "Culture and Democracy" [https://lnkd.in/dWSSqf95] showed a clear positive correlation between cultural participation – both passive and active engagement with the arts and creativity – and the strength of a range of civic indicators, such as a greater likelihood of voting and of participating in community activities. And the most inclusive form of cultural participation is arts education, since schools are where culture and the arts are most likely to be experienced by ALL children and young people, regardless of income and background. When you invest in arts education, you are supporting more vibrant democracies, more active participation in community life, better health and well-being and greater social inclusion. So perhaps we need to rebrand the 24th of January as the International Day of Arts Education? What are your thoughts?
